Looking for a compression checker tool. never used it so i am not even sure how it looks. If anyone has one, it would be nice if i could barrow it for a day or so. Thanks, Taras
They are cheap. Go to NAPA and get one. They are around $30. Very useful tool to have around if you are buying (or selling) used cars. The way they work is that you disable the injectors and spark plugs. This is done differently on various cars. On my Evo, all I had to do was unplug the crank sensor. Boom, disabled everything necessary for me to run the compression test.
Don't forget to make sure you hold the throttle at WOT while cranking the car to check the compression too. -Steve
Not necessarily true on Drive By Wire vehicles. But I'm assuming this is for the Miata, so yes, WOT while cranking.
