Well my car is driving now... I just got it back from the Exhaust shop b/c they did full 3" pipe but when i put the gasket in where the DP meets the MP it is still leaking does anyone have any ideas how to stop it? Btw its a new gasket
might need a cut and reweld at one of the flanges so that they are parrallel.... but if they custom built the pipe then it should have fit...
so they didnt get the flanges right? if wrxboy was still in business i would have sent you to him to fix it for you. the remflex's may or may not work. if you have an area that doesnt get totally torqued down it may blow out. 99% of people that have issues with remflex's blowing is because of either improper torque or a badly warped mating surface.
if you cant find a solution I may still be able to help... I still have the welder and stuff.. just would have to work it on the driveway till I build/renovate my house garage...
+1 for nate getting a home-shop going. Nothing like getting to working on cars: 1. that are owned by people who take care of them. 2. Actually pay you what you deserve 3. Understand how much work you're doing 4. At your own house 5. In a shop with little or no overhead 6. without being away from wife and kids 7. hanging with MNsubaru members!
and I bet it's leaking on the top of the pipe? here's acouple quick tricks that sometimes helps.... take a jack and raise the mid-pipe so it's meets flush with the dp, then bolt it down and it should seal. otherwise unhook the muffler hangers so the muffler section and mid pipe has an easier time coming forward and lining up. Or get some sealant...I personally don't like it cause it just doesn't seem to last that long. if ya can't get it I'll be home around 8:30 tonight and can probably fix it for ya.... just call me if needed
Nope the top is sealed its right on the bottom but the flanges are perfectly strait idk whats going on. I dont want to weld it because then it would be impossibl to take out.
I rode in it while Justin mashed the gas on I-94 right through downtown St. Paul. Pretty loud with all those big concrete walls around.
No it didnt work idk what im going to do im tired of having it at shops so i will figger something out. It is really weird when u look at it, it looks as though it would be leaking at the top but it is leakin at the bottom. weird idk
i had the same problem when i did my dp. i have a friend that told me to use tin foil. kind a goofy but it works you get enough and it seals perfectly.
