Update: Picked up the new shortblock today! its so fresh and clean also got some preasents in the mail: ARP head studs Cometic head gaskets ACT clutch Picked up my new cam gears from subaru yesterday the 2.0 is stripped, just need to get some plugs and small stuff transfered over all i am waiting on to start putting it back together is the gasket kit and a torque wrench lol i am very excited to get this thing done!
The MFactory gears are about $2300 for all 5 gears I believe. Go on nasioc, transmission area, and you'll find more info on it.
yeah i did that, not sure on that though... only 350 ft/lbs capable? if im going to fork out the money for my transmission i would likt it to be able to hold more than that. i just wish i could find a 6 speed swap local....

i didn't, MAP did lol, i bought it from RexXNXmotion, who bought it from MAP, they built it specifically to accomidate the wrx heads. not sure what the ratio is, i still need to figure that out.
Got my turbo today! Woot! just waiting on my gasket kit and **** can start to go back together! I am going to delete my tgv's once i find my dremil... its somewher in the garage... i think lol.
its a 3 layer, dont remember the thickness... got a good amount done today... heads bolted on the block oil pickup and pan on header UP pipe turbo bunch of cooling lines water pump picking up my 08 oil pump, cam seals, and valve cover gaskets tomorrow should have it almost all back together tomorrow! i hope! lol then i hope to have it back in the car on friday! wish me luck lol
so i have everything bolted on the motor!!!! its almost ready to go in... tomorrow i will pull it off the ngine stand with the hoist, bolt on the flywheel, clutch and presure plate then put the tranny on and it should be in the car tomorrow!!!
ITS IN!!!! still in the process of hooking everything up but the motor and tranny are bolted on there mounts!
In the interest of people looking, I found some interesting info in this thread on NASIOC. Posts #40 and #42 are very interesting, and seem to indicate that most people doing a hybrid build would benefit more from building off of a 06-08 EJ255 WRX motor vs. a EJ257. I know it's a little late for Flatline and some of the other local guys doing hybrid builds, but some food for thought...
