Does anybody know where the I/C sprayer resivoir is located on an 06 STI? My light came on today and it wont come off when I push the sprayer button. So im assuming im out? Please help, I am a noob
We have a winner. On a side note, does anyone ever read their owners manual? It says this kind of thing in there.
I've been used distilled water (to keep the system clean) and I try to get it near empty before winter time. I'm not entirely sure of how the plumbing goes with all the fittings and valves and such, but the lines haven't burst yet from freezing. There's probably some relief valve somewhere which lets expanding water backfill the reservoir. Just make sure your tank isn't near full come freezing time. ~Dan
Use distilled water, don't use anything that has alcohol in it. If your I/C has anything painted on it, you'll end up slowly stripping the paint off if you use alcohol.
I second this. Also, like everyone else says. Make sure you only have the tank 1/2 full before the temp drops.
OMG! You'll loose the paint off your intercooler if you use alcohol. Yet, alcohol is more effective. I'd use acetone since it is the most volatile solvent legally available, but you might not like the smells. The smells!!!!.
Yeah, by all means, load your plastic tank, lines, and nozzle up with acetone. You have fun with that one.
I don't think I'd be spraying anything combustible under the hood of my car... that's just me. Like most others, I use distilled water.
Are you fer serious? Lets see.. gas is being sprayed inside my engine in an controlled environment... alcohol is being sprayed directly on your intercooler were the evaporation can certainly flash with the turbo being just under it. Yeah, I see the comparison.
