Anyone here work at an insurance company?? I've got state farm and paying $768 every 6months for my 01 impreza. I'm 21 yrs old, my first and only speeding ticket was when i was 17. Does $1500/yr seem high to anyone else, or is it just me because its comming out of my pocket?

When I was 21, they wanted 1800 every six months. That's very good already.

wait a few more years, it should go down as long as you dont add to your record much. I pay $580 for six months, but i have a few years on ya.

At one point my record sucked so bad i couldnt get insured for less than $1000 under any coverage option... damn DAS/DAR's

"Hofit" does. Farmers insurance I think. I remember talking to him briefly at the January Jorge tune this year since I use Farmers.
Iirc there are a couple other folks here that do also.

It's all relative. Your insurance will go down significantly as you age if you don't get any tickets.

    $125 a month. Deductible?

    +1

I pay $75 a month with $500 deductible on an 07 STI but I'm also 25+, multiple car owner, home owner, direct withdrawal, pre-paid, etc...

$86 a month for full coverage on my '05 wrx wag.

Sometimes being married and over 25 has it's advantages. Also owning your own house under the same company helps.

$190 a month with a accident from two years ago, this October it should drop to $130 or so on my own insurance plan and not off my parents.

I have a government employee rate. And I yelled at them for a solid hour and a half right before I moved to MN and got put on the preferred plan. I was paying 900/6mo in CA, and they said my 6mo rate would jump to 2080/6mo in MN because minnesota requires uninsured motorist coverage. Which is absolute crap...not the uninsured motorist thing, but the part about my insurance more than doubling.

so I'm still on my parents' plan, have no tickets on my record, drive a car that, as far as the insurance company is concerned, is a FWD AT 1.8l POS, and have Liability only.
