Hey all, Ive been a huge rally fan for many years and i Just ordered my first Subaru yesterday! I have no clue how I am supposed to wait 8-12 weeks for delivery?!?! Right now I drive a clean, infra red, 2004 SVT focus 5 door. It's actually up for sale over at mnfocus.com Glad I found you guys/gals as I'm looking forward to seeig some of your machines! I was reading through some of the threads here and had a good long laugh at the "bass it" thread! Seems like a fun crowd. Anyways, on to what I ordered!!!! 2012 wrb WRX hatch! - spt sts - spt boost gauge - fog light kit - all weather mats I think I'm going to need a support group to get me through the wait period though... Pictures will come, eventually...
Congrats and welcome! Good choice on the order. If you need some rides to get you through until the delivery date, just get down to one of the weekly meets and introduce yourself. Also, you may want to break in the new motor before you bass it too hard. We'll keep an eye out for the bright red SVT at the meets! Welcome home.

Congrats on the upcoming purchase! I ordered my WRX back in Feburary and it sounds like I'll be picking it up this week. It's hard to wait but I think it will be worth it.

Congrats on the purchase! It could be worse. When I ordered mine last year, the plant was still shut down from the earthquake. I had no expected delivery date, they weren't even sure at that point if they were going to continue production on the 2011 or just halt it and start gearing up for the 2012. I put my order in April 6th and I picked it up July 1st. That was a loooong wait.
Thanks everybody!! Glad to hear you are having meets quite often. I used to go down to University all the time when I lived in the area. There was a large group of Subies that used to hang out at one of the shops down there. Was that people from here? Also, not sure if he is on here, but my brother lives in Coon Rapids and said there is a guy in the area with an INSANELY powerful WRX. Also, I would SERIOUSLY plan on seeing my Focus at a meet sometime soon! Definitely looking forward to learning a new chassis and seeing some of the ideas out there. I don't mind being the "odd man out" except I think it will make waiting for the new car more difficult.
That was us at the Firestone just west of Snelling on Uni that you'd always see while cruising the strip down there. There are a few Insane WRX/STi's around here in the 4-500hp range. We won't hate on ya about the focus...come on down to Firestone on Uni next Friday, we'll be there. Otherwise, come to Lake Calhoun on Tuesday night around 6:30 or 7pm. We meet on the Southwest side of the lake in the lot down there. And yes, you will have the Subie bug once you start hanging around them and going for rides in em. My buddy used to have a Saleen Focus...now he has an 04 Forester and he hasn't been missing the Focus at all. Links... Haha, thanks. I think if I only wait 8 weeks, I would be ecstatic. I'm getting married on June 23rd so the new ride might be a nice wedding present to myself... Knowing all of this, the lady still gave the thumbs up, so you know I have to keep her!
Just wanted to give a quick update on my order. I have had my VIN for a couple weeks now and ETA is 05/21/2012. (so 7 weeks total wait.) Dealer said to expect up to a week delay though, just based on current shipping times. So I'm planning on the 28th. It's about time for me to start showing up at meets with the Slo-cus! Can't make it this friday, but hopefully we get nice weather next week.
Oh, heck yeah!!!! I'm gonna go dig for info on it right now! I'm assuming that is the Eau Claire drive?

Haha! Been driving around bassin the hell out of her!! Got off the freeway on the way home and already got spotted AND deuces from a guy in a saaburu following a white wrx. Won't be down to calhoun tonight been out cruising too much! I'll be at a meet soon though!!!!
