Can I run A catback exhaust without doing a tune? And can I remove the intake silencer? This is all on a 04 sti
3" exhaust, then either and intake or if you just pull the silencer get a better air filter. Also a light weight crank pulley. If you drive hard don't forget break pads.
I'm doing cat back for now to get a better sound then after I save some money I will do the dp and up then a tune and the dealer just did new rotors and pads
Sounds like a start.... catback alone will not really gain you power alone in case u did not know. I did the opposite - dpipe and accessport map first. (If you do dpipe your sound will change, most especially with a catless) Than later catback.... than more. Your wallet best beware once you begin. Enjoy.
Not really. Depends on if you are talking about a CAI or a SRI. The SRI like to heatsoak all of the air from the engine bay. The CAI you definitely want a tune for! If you remove the silencer, hacking the 180 degree elbow off and using it to pull from the stock air intake location is a plus IMO. It's pretty easy to do and you are basically still running stock air in, minus the silencer bellow.
Sounds good I will soon gather parts then do tune and put them all on. For now I just want the sti sound from the catback and yeah I watched a DIY on YouTube about the silencer prob doin that tonight
