I think I may have jenks myself. My turbo stopped working a few days ago. Right now it boosts only up to 4psi up top. I have to take a look at it making sure it's not dead. If it is dead I make have to put together my parts here so I can run around NA while I rebuild my EJ22T.

SO I was thinking since I'm poor, I may have to find a phase1 EJ22 and put my EJ22T crank/rods/bearings in it with my '99 EJ22E pistons that are still in my '99 shortblock. This coupled with the WRX heads brings it RIGHT BACK up to 10.0:1CR.

It sounds SO MUCH Like every other 4 cylinder now because I have no more boost.... *sniff*

How much is a rebuild on the turbo? Can you get a kit for it and then take it to Diesel Components for a balance?

I want to have it rebuilt by DeadBolt with their LARGE compressor housing. Hopefully it just needs a rebuild. The kits cost just a little over $100.

I might have a EJ22E ('97) shortblock. It has a head bolt siezed into the block half though. It would be free if I can have the crank out of it. drop me a pm if you are interested, and I will find out how available it is.

Look at the bright side, you won't have to worry about fuel cost. LOL But than again the gas prices have been dropping significantly. I think she is trying to tell you something there mt. Fuji!

OKIES, I thought VERY HARD to try and figure out WHY my perfectly good working turbo that was JUST BOOSTING 20psi all of a sudden stopped working. If a turbo that was failing stopped working, you'd see symptoms already, you'd hear weird noises. I was testing it and going WOT through the rev band.....it HIT 14psi from 6000-7500rpms. It'd ONLY start to build boost once you got to 4500rpms and up. The turbo started to come back ALIVE!!!!! The NOISES where NORMAL turbo noises where it started to spool it'd make a nice whistling sound.

THEN the thought came in mind that the little clip that was holding my wastegate arm onto the flapper was worn out the last time I checked it. BING!!!!! BING!!!!! BING!!!!! I got some light and looked through the little gap of my modded stock heat shield. I then took off my heat shield and voila!!!! The arm was WIDE OPEN!!!! I found a little piece of metal from my tool chest and stuck it in. muahahahahahah

BEHOLD!!!! BOOST AGAIN!!!!!! it's nice to see 20psi again!!!!

BUT I will still have this setup in mind. Sorry if I dissapointed you guys.

How lucky was that to have a hole small enough to stick a wire thru to hold it in place. Boy this season has both of us experiencing the same boost issues. LOL

yes, boost issues..... Nuke said did I think of your boost issue when I was thinking of mine. ahahah That didn't come in mind. But on man I love my turbo's response with my JDM style wastegate setup.
