Just thought I would drop by. I am on my 2nd Subaru, just picked up my 2011 Legacy 3.6R Limited. I wanted something fun, yet few options for mods so I could control my urges. I do not think that will happen as I am already looking for suspension mods. I am new to the car scene in MN, I moved out here from Colorado, and I could use some advice on where to get a reasonable priced tint job. I had my 2009 WRX tinted 15% in CO for $178 with a warranty. Cheapest I have found out here and darkest is 35% for $260. Any help there would be great. I hope to see some other 5th Gen legacys around.
Minnesota state law is 50% and they crack down on it pretty hard. You can get a perscription for tint, there is a thread on here somewhere. Talk to Chris at Flawless Front Ends or Sun Control of Minnesota, their contact info is located in the Vendor Directory. Welcome to the site and to Minnesota!
Thanks, I should say I am a born and raised Minnesotan, I moved to CO for 3 years. I had my WRX with 15% tint here for 8 months with not being bothered. I live in Woodbury and work in St Paul. I plan to go 20%-25% on the legacy. Surprisingly the Woodbury Police don't bother me. I have sat at stop lights next to them many times. Sun Control in Little Canada quoted me $380! I will check with Chris.
I had my Tint done by Sun Control in Eden Prairie last year. Charged me 180 for 30% all around with a lifetime warranty. He also helped me get a prescription. Here is a link to his info. http://mnsubaru.com/threads/for-those-wanting-windows-tinted.34466/
Chris at Flawless Front Ends does great work! He'll be cheaper then the price you are talking about in your post.
I saw that you and many others paid $180...I was quoted today $260 from Sun Control and I told the lady I saw many people on MNSubaru had paid $180 she told me I might be able to get it cheaper if I call a dealership?? I hope she was new, because who sends people elsewhere for business?
I see in the link I sent you that robs vender account has been put on hold. Mabe he doesn't work for them anymore?
I made an appointment with Chris at flawless front ends to do my tint in October, $165 to tint my hatch, not going below 50% though because I hate cops and have witnessed first hand in the past three months my buddy get pulled over for 35% on his ride three seperate times each ticket is around $125.
crappy Iphone 4 pic. Next steps will be H&R Springs, Perrin RSB, GT Spec Front Strut Brace, the small rear spoiler, window tint, roof spoiler, and something different for the grille. And possibly the Perrin ABE.
What are you doing on Saturday? If nothing, come out and cruise to Siren for some killer BBQ with us. I think it would be the first time in history more than one 5th gen was at the same MNS event at the same time... Also, I want to see how the red looks in person. http://mnsubaru.com/threads/the-official-fall-colors-animal-consumption-cruise.40112/
I tend to always be early. However I cannot make it tomorrow, I would love to get out but I made plans to entertain the kids tomorrow since the wife is out of town. Any cruises in the winter?
hmmm....peer pressure. I'm not trying to dodge it, but I do not have a PayPal account. My boys are 7 and 4, is this BBQ kid friendly in that regard?
It is specifically designed to be a family friendly, low-key cruise and BBQ. We will have a couple kids along in that age range. My son is five and I believe there are two others coming along. Kids meals are being offered for $5.50. No promises on what happens at the campgrounds afterwards. Also, you should be able to send paypal from any credit/debit card IIRC.
I don't suppose you happen to be from the south metro? I just saw an RRP 5th gen cruising around Apple Valley...
Chris at Flawless...as stated, #1 in my books also! Welcome and sweet ride! Where in CO were you living?
Love me some CO! Need to go out and do some boarding again soon...i miss the powders, although the hard packed ice hear is a real treat. lol
Heh... that reminds me of the first time I hit Salt Lake City when I was a ski instructor up here. While taking a break after cutting up a particularly icy groomed section I had someone come up and say roughly, "I've never seen ski's able to cut ice like that, what kind are those??!?!". "Durrr... midwest?"
I had to cancel my appointment with Chris for October 13th to get my windows tinted looks like I get to buy a new furnace instead and eat Ramen noodles all winter, give him a call if you haven't made an appointment he should be available that day now.
