I recently just purchased a turbo that came PnP'd. Upon further inspection it looks as though ther person that did it knick'd the shaft on the hotside, the fins look fine and untouched, but there is a bit missing from the cap I guess you would call it on the shaft. I am wondering if this will effect anything at all?

I will get pics up tonight when I get home from work.

There are sometimes bits taken out of the "cap" as you describe it to balance it.... Pics would help muchly.

The turbo probably has the "notch" on the shaft becuase that's how most companies balance the turbo. Who did the PnP work?

    No idea.

I will get some pics up, maybe I will run it by Grimmspeed tomorrow and have them take a look at it. They still at their same location?

That is from balancing. If it was knicked by the person who ported it, it would look a lot rougher.

The turbine housing is generally removed for porting anyways.

Yeah we're still in the same spot. No need to bring it by for the shaft, It's definitely cut like that for balancing. The port work has a lot to be desired though.

    Oh Really?

You guys charge the full $200 for cleaning up after someone else's porting?

It all depends on how the work was done and how much we'll have to clean up from the last guys work. Was the cold side done at all? If you want to send me a PM with some more info on the turbo we can work out a price for the work.
