Well farts...family commitments have come up, will have to pull out of this one. While I'm always a proponent of pulling out in time, this will be the one and only opportunity I will have to attend this event, so I am disappointed. This community is great, the info and help here is great, hoping that I'm able to find the same when I move east. I will still honor my commitment to pay for someones first involvement in this event, as I still think it's a great thing to see going on.
^that sucks! Well you’ll always be able to enjoy the YouTube videos! Thanks for the kind offer, someone will have a great time for sure!
I am friends with Steve from Dahl. I am coming to this. Last attended back in 2014 I think. Who can I send payment to?
Found care and off work, if I attend it looks like I’ll be flying solo. @tangledupinblu can I pay you at event since my status is “tentative based on spouse”?
Uhh, I think your maths may be a little off. It's 8/2 and the event is on the 25th... Has anyone checked the routes for constructions yet? We're getting punched by mndot up here so hopefully that means there won't be much south of here this year.
for now... butt anyway, for the more ambitious: http://www.dot.state.mn.us/roadwork/current.html and http://www.dot.state.mn.us/newsrels/18/04/4kickoff.html
So, I was shopping for a stubby antenna, because Nissan tosses a foot long floppy antenna on the roadster. The antenna mounts in the center of the trunklid, and I found an antenna mount for cameras. So, this spot is perfect for filming footage of the cruise (we figured this out on previous LaX cruses) as it isn't obstructed by anything. My first question is, do any of you rich MF'ers have a 360 degree video camera (don't say first gen Samsung Gear360, that piece of crap overheats after 10 minutes of use, and I don't want to babysit this thing the entire drive), but if you have a GoPro 360 cam, or a Gear360 2017 model, I can mount it on the 370z roadster rear decklid for the drive and get some pretty great, unobstructed video from the drive. Otherwise, I'm just going to buy a Gear360 2017 model (i have the 2016, and it is useless) for the trip to film drive bys. If we don't get a 360 cam by the week of the LaX cruise, I'll buy one.
One of my boys just offered to bring me on this. I would have to apologize We wouldn We be in a Lexus SC 300.Thank you. Rick
Coming to a regional car meet near you! She has her flaws, but the Japan runs deep and the turbos spool quick
In +2. A buddy would like to come with but does not have a subie. Is it alright if he brings his pony?
I don't think I even use a whole tank. Usually fill up at the gas station right by Walmart in IGH before meeting up. And you definitely wanna fill up beforehand so you don't miss out on the massive, road-blocking merge that we do onto 52. Haha.
That is a tough one to predict because of the wide variety of HP numbers, different fuels like e85, and different driving styles. But stock WRX on pump gas should take you about a full tank there and back. It is a 148 miles one way...so 296 miles round trip.
Hey Jason! Send tangledupinblu a message and he will get you setup for payment via PayPal! Glad you're able to make it!
Wagon got tuned today over at JM, looks like the forester and roof top tent will be staying in the driveway and ill have the wagon out this year
Hmm, a Google search for "Japanese uncle Sam" yielded this and a lot of VERY offensive WWII propaganda that I will not be sharing...
Here's the deal.. Lessons learned from last year, I'm not bringing a can of e85 in my hatch and I don't advise anyone to do so either.. However, anyone who needs e85 can get it from Wabasha Kwik trip or gordies in Winona and some places in lax but I can't remembered.
