Looks like I won't make it to LaX, spent last night tuning and my cam sensor died due to excessive heat. Looks like today I'll be switching back to the Subaru VR sensor for the cam.
Bummed I missed my first one since owning my WRX. Hope everyone made it safely with no sploding transformers or any other splodes...

Agreed! This was my second time attending and both were a great experience. Didn't get a chance to hang out with everyone at the campground that much with my son along for the trip but I needed to make sure he enjoyed it as much as I did. Thank you to all who helped put it together! And to anyone who has video/photos from the event please post them when you can.
I have video, but my attempt at getting decent audio has again failed. It'll be a while before I can post it, as it takes a while to process it, but I'll post it as soon as it's ready.
I need to do some tests with the audio recorder that I used, I think its "Digital Noise Reduction" is what caused all the noise. Sounds counterintuitive, but I think it couldn't cope with the sudden spikes of noise from the exhaust and wind. I'm guessing it is just a low-tech amplitude filter that doesn't do a good job of smoothing the tops of the peaks. The result was tons of crackling and popping any time the volume hit a certain threshold. The audio track I recorded is basically completely useless. I am going to try riding around with it turned off and just capture some raw audio from it within the cabin. I'm betting it will turn out a lot better, and I can likely perform the same amplitude threshold in processing.
Also, 4K 360* video takes about 45 minutes per 750MB chunk, and there are about 30 of the slices to process.
And I was right between both of you most of the time; my bugeye's butt was prominently featured in a lot of that footage. Just glad it didn't show me swerving around while attending to the toddler in the back seat, lol.
Hey thanks again for a nice cruise without the downpours. It was fun. My boys enjoyed themselves definitely, minus the mosquitoes. If I could make a request, I’d really appreciate for any photos of my car to be sent my way. Especially any rollers. I have just about zero of those. Thanks again Ps. I have no Facebook
So, since it's so cold that hell has literally frozen over, I wanted to ask you..... Do you know when this will be this year? I need a reminder that warm days and all the fun associated with them are actually going to come around again...
