Ok, it's time for something new. I'm putting up my wrx for sale.

    It's a 2002 with 142k miles, 5 spd

-new oem heads/valve work at 122k miles (repair work done at local subaru dealer) low compression cyl 3 I believe. I have receipts
-new timing belt, water pump, pulleys, cam seals, crankshaft seal ~4k miles ago.
-newer all al radiater (~135k miles)
-new invidia downpipe (w/ cat), grimmspeed 3 port electronic boost control solenoid, grimmspeed uppipe and tune done by Nuke at ~4k miles ago.
    -oem boost gauge
    -new eibach springs last summer
-17" rota tarmacs w/summer tires included. The summer tires don't have lots of thread, they will last this season for sure. Not sure how much longer after that.
    -new diehard battery last winter.
-The airconditioning doesn't work. There is no refrigerant and the compressor needs testing. I have a spare if this one is bad that you can have.
-It also has new subaru extra s in the transmission as well as Rotella T6 5w-40 synthetic oil. I've just switched away from mobile 1 synthetic.
-Clutch was replaced when headwork was done around 122k with oem replacement

salvage title: all repair work performed by Bruce at Rivers Edge, new rear section of car welded in place at factory weld points to remove all damage from accident car was in.

    Full rebuild thread here: http://mnsubaru.com/threads/saving-a-bugeye.32381/

other info: When the downpipe was done, turbo was inspected and no shaft play found. I believe the car is well sorted. all alignments came in fine after all repair work. Had alignment done at Minnetonka Subaru. Gas smell recall was performed and it passed the control arm recall test as well. The only mod that was on the car when I got it was a forge bypass valve. I kept it stock until recently. The car is not perfect but I'm straight up and not hiding anything. My build thread should outline everything.

    $5500 obo

If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

    thanks,
    Ryan

Well I'm still shopping for a Wrx. Where are you located? Any CEL? Any maintenance needed other than AC? Stock muffler? Thanks for any reply.

And salvage title, is that an issue when registering or insuring?

No cels since i fixed The original emissions code when i first got it running after rebuild. There was a hole in an emissions canister.-easy fix. It's been run for over 20k without a cel. Stock cat back (including muffler) it's not loud at all.

As for salvage title. It passed inspection already. I needed to to get the title. For salvage you get title that is red instead of green that says prior salvage. No insurance issues for
State farm. Since it is prior salvage you would
get less payout from Insurance company in the case of
Accident, but given my price is low and it isn't a new or practically new car it shouldn't matter as much.

I would not buy a newer car with salvage for the reason of a lower payout if you are spending $10k+. That and you are never sure what was done to the car. Older cars Insurance tends to payout and mark salvage since repairs
Easily approach what car is worth. You can read the build thread to see damage and repair. It eliminates the risk in wondering if a proper repair was done.

If you are windering why i am selling I'm looking to find a first gen forester. More room
for the kids and for something new

For maint. I can't think of anything. I have some new front brake pads.
The car brakes fine but i was going to check tolerances and gonfeom there sometime this summer. I just get in and drive i guess. I never worry about it not starting or stranding me someplace. I drive
To Minneapolis and back every day and take it on 3hr trips to WI now and again. It was primarily my winter car to keep my other car out of the salt and never had an issue.

    Thanks guys,

Cutting the car in half might appear scary/excessive but it was the cleanest way to get rid of the damage. I thought it was a better option to have a clean rear put on than having a rack try to pull things straight. By drilling out the factory welds where the body was first put together you aren't cutting any new seams in the floor. There are factory measurements based off certain locations on the body so when putting a car together it ensures you get things put back together straight.

This kind of work is not much different than an accident where a new rear quarter panel is put in or b pillar in cases of side impact that doesn't total a new car. These reference points are there for a reason. The roof was held intact and not touched. The work done on this car was just on a larger scale since you are basically doing work to both quarters and the floor and is more typical of body work that used to be done more. I guess my point is that this isn't a bondo job where 50lbs of bondo was used to hold things together where 6 months later you wonder why there is a big crack in your roof because the car is a train wreck because of the person doing the work.

Salvage isn't for everybody, thats understandable. [IMG]

I'd rather have this car the way that you and Bruce repaired it then to have the dents beat out of it. This was a top notch rebuild/salvage and is well worth the money! It will make a great addition to someones garage!

    GLWS!

LOL, you have a pic of the inside of my garage and my brothers 03 with a roll cage in your rebuild thread, so I guess you've met my brother.

Looking for an 01-02 forester (manual) sorry not interested in the Saab. I had a SPG at one time that was great but not looking to go back.

I didn't meet your brother in person but exchanged some emails. I was considering his shell but didn't want to have to deal with the roll cage. Would have been even more work to swap over to it. :)
