hey guys just to be honest im kinda of noob with the ap, i have a 04 sti with big tmic cold air dp and cat back so i got a ap v1 and flashed stg 2 93oct and im geting 2 codes cylnder 1 and 3 misfire,,, the ideas i have about this are either i need stock intake or one step colder plugs? guide me in the right direction please
You should probably get a custom tune, a stg 2 map is just going to be tuned for a turboback. Someone else can chime in.
when was the last time your spark plugs were changed? also, make sure the plugs are plugged into the coil packs.
Its my understanding that one step colder plugs are not required if you are not over 100hp over stock. You should get a open ecu tune.
doesnt seem to miss it idles rough and motor shakes like 3/4 to one inch both ways, i want to get a pro tune but no tuners that close to me haha maybe get a email tune but i dont want to buy a datalogger haha umm plugs were just replaced with used plugs from my friends sti they had 20k on them i gapped them beter than my 80k plugs haha
and i just bought a artisan 18g so i dont want to tune(if i dont have to) until thats in and i still need fuel pump and some 850cc's
Do you have a BOV? If you do, its a potential leak. It could be set too loose. Also check for any other post-maf intake leaks. Plugs are always a great idea. Make sure they're NGK.
I flashed stage 1 and started getting those exact codes. I had just change plugs, started reading and talked to Ronnie at RS he said it probably has to do with the fuel part of the map because I had the SPT intake. Put the stock intake back on and haven't seen the code since. So either get tuned or try a stock intake. My $.02
FYI: you can not gap platinum tipped plugs you will more often than not damage the platinum tip, if you did Gap then it is very possible you did this and it is causing your car to not run correctly. also like other said either remove some of the mods or get a pro tune. an atmospheric BOV shouldn't make your car misfire but it will make it run rich between shifts and can load up your plugs with crap. check for boost leaks also anything after the MAF will cause the car to run poorly.
I would first buy brand new plugs and replace the used ones you installed...and just use the standard iridiums. Also, try mapping it to 91 octane first and see if the CELs go away.
Well, yeah. He did say he had bent valves. I'm more interested in how much he was leaning himself out with that CAI on a Cobb Stage 2 map.
