I know that this topic has been discuss probably over a million times. But my stock struts on the 06 sti needs to be replace. I have been searching for struts for the 06 STI and can not for the life of me seem to find anything for the MY06 sti. It's either coilvers which i don't need because this is just a DD, or Feal revalve, I just want a strut/spring combo, that is: A) same as the stock handling and ride with less wheel gap up front. B) slightly better handling and ride with less wheel gap up front. I would prefer to just get new struts instead of having to send my struts to get the revalve. Any inputs would be GREATLY! appreciated thanks!
Feal will send you a set already done and when they get yours in core return they will refund your deposit. Its a little more up front but that way you are not without a car thats what I did.
I had the same problem that you are having now. I went with RCE black springs and the feal revalve, the revalved struts lasted me about 6 months and they started to clunk. I sent them back and got a new set and the same thing happened, I finally said screw it and got coilovers. I wasn't going to waste anymore money on struts because they weren't working. If you do go with struts and want a set of RCE black springs I would be willing to sell them since they are just sitting on my garage.
Koni inserts Koni doesn't advertise you can do it, but you can with a little bit of work. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1276865
Did they put a grease zerk on the rears when they re-built them? I may be interested in your struts. Shoot me a price.
They had them in mine but I had the same issue with my 1st set of feal revalves. Tried greasing them did not help. They acknowlaged they had a build issue with a limited number of them and sent me a new set free of charge and paid my return shipping for the bad ones.
Yeah, at this point I'm just probably gonna go with coilovers despite all the negative posts I've read about having coilover for a DD. Just curious, what brand coilover did you get? if you don't mind me asking:
I got BC racing BR series coilovers, once I get the dampening adjustments dialed in I think it will be a pretty good ride.
