Ok so two years ago I installed some Progress springs to lower and stiffen the ride. While making the modification the shock absorber put a small hole in the front driverside outer CV boot. Drove on it for a few weeks until I noticed that there was something abnormal going on. Most of the grease made its way out of the boot and onto the inside of the rim and wheel arch. I got around to pulling the whole axle to replace the punctured boot because at the time it was not possible to order in a replacement axle. Now after about a year and a half it looks like much of the grease has forced its way out of the boot along the axle and I need to replace the whole thing. Between 60-70 mph and above 80 I'm getting some pretty significant feedback through the steering wheel of something vibrating. Also under heavy breaking the car shudders. I visited O'Reillys to inquire about replacing the axle, of which there are two options. One is a 20-something spline and the other is a 30-something spline. I cannot remember what my axle is from my 2009 2.5i 5-door automatic. I'm looking to order in the part before I pull the current part because this is my daily driver, and I have to do the job in under a day working in the hotels parking lot as I am away from home. If anyone knows what the spline is I would greatly appriciate it, also thoughts on whether the break disk could have been effected by the constant issues. Would it be a good idea to have it looked at or turned since it will be off the car anyway?
