that advice was for new pumps too. make sure all those screws are tight. if anyof them can easily ber loosened with a screw driver pull them out and use loctite.
ok so as of right now I will give u guys the list of stuff i have gathered up for this build. base car is a 2002 wrx 5spd -new sti ej25 short block -sti head gaskets -other random gaskets etc.. -new oem oil pump and seals -exedy stage 1 clutch kit -light weight perrin crank pulley -turbo xs hybrid 50/50 bov -arp head studs -tbe -megan racing flexible catless up pipe -If i was to get sti pinks would I need to get a bigger fuel pump? -Also can I run this setup with stock injectors with a stage 2 reflash and be ok? -If I do get sti/06 wrx injector and just put that in do i need to get it tuned before I drive it? -What do you guys recommend for break in miles cause if I get bigger injectors before I break in the motor can I dyno it with 0 miles on it with out messin it up? soory for all the ?s I just dont wanna wreck anything and just really want my car back on the road.....
STi pinks would be better if you intended not to ever upgrade or run more than ~16psi for boost. The 2.5L requires a bit more fuel than a 2.0L, so it will easily max out the stock WRX injectors. A fuel pump wouldn't be bad, but not needed for stock injectors. You will need to be tuned for any injector that aren't the stock ones. Break in on a new motor is usually 500 miles, but that has been fought/discussed many times. Builders have different ideas, and you can do what you like. I just wouldn't go crazy for at least 500 miles.
so if i do get the sti injectors will i need a fuel pump? and can i drive it with the sti injectors for 500 miles to break it in or at least on to a trailer before i get it dynoed? also how will the stage 2 reflash and stock injectors handle this setup? good enough for the break in?
I think you can run the "pinks" on a stock pump, although it might be a better idea to just spend the $100 and get the Walbro and install kit. If you choose to buy injectors, and you plan to go bigger (turbo-wise) in the future, you may want to just buy something bigger than pinks. Maybe 650cc, or even 800cc. Breaking it in on stage 2 shouldn't be too bad, just don't do any rev limit bouncing, and try not to cruise at a constant RPM for too long. If it is a "new" factory short block, you shouldn't have to worry about it too much as they are run and heat cycled on an engine dyno. They have less to worry about than a freshly "Built" engine.
OK update, My car is almost done being put back together and was wondering a few things... First off I want to thank you guys for some of the good info I received. Ok so I going to have it tuned in the cites and just wondering who u guys would recomend and if you know if they have any experience wth hybrids bulids. Im probably going to go to rs but just thought i would ask this ? to see waht u guys think. Also if i was to get a grimmspeed bcs should I install it myself or wait untill I get to where im tuning it and have them do it or do it when I get there myself. (dont think I can drive it 2-300 miles withit untuned with that on ). And last but not least what should i expect for a cost of getting my car tuned at like rs or something just wondering I know it will not be cheap but just wanna prepare a lil so I dont **** my pants when I get the bill lol. thanks once agian!!
If your going for a dyno tune I would recommend RS. They are easy to work with and will answere any of your questions. When you talk to the tuner you choose he will tell you not to install the bcs until the car is at their shop. Its pretty quick to do. When I went to RS its was just under $200 for a stage 2 tune. He charges by the hour that its on the dyno so it all depends on how smoothly things go.
Ill prollbaby just go there and install it when I get there if ifs not to bad to do. I should probably call soon seeing as my car should be done by the end of this week
