Yes but I wouldn't bother with stock wrx struts. Also there is a big caveat which is sedan struts don't fit perfect in wagons. You need wagon struts or the correct fix for the sedan struts to work. Also the rear springs are different and you would need spacers in the rear.
So if I were to get some aftermarket adjustable struts for a wrx wagon they would work with the addition of spacers?
Spacers are dependent on the springs you choose, not the struts. I suggest doing your research on matching struts with springs. Depending on the springs you get, spacers may not be necessary. Also, don't get Tein S-Tech springs. Just don't. You know, I'll just say that these questions have been asked at LEAST a billion times. I suggest doing some research as your questions are pretty fundamental. If you visited Nasioc and searched for about 15 minutes all of these questions would have been answered.
I asked some newbie questions when I was new to the scene too. No need to hack on anyone for making sure they have their ducks in a row before taking on mods.
We all did. Which means all of the noob questions have already been asked. Reasking them simply shows that the OP is too lazy to actually spend the 5 minutes to search for the answers he's looking for.
Actually, I think that it does serve a useful purpose. Like Sneefy said, these questions have been asked and answered repeatedly. The OP would be well served by doing a search on both this site and on others for answers to his questions because it'll expand his own knowledge base and allow him to make better decisions as to what he needs. Sneefy didn't hack on him, he told him where he could find the answers to his questions.
Just like in college/work, what I've found works the best when you're a newb to any topic is to try and research yourself for a bit, then post a summary of your current understanding and remaining questions. People are then usually happy to confirm and/or correct your understandings, and answer your questions, if it's apparent that you've done some homework
Exactly right. If I let any frustration show, it's simply because I'm rather tired of people wanting others to do their homework for them. I'm glad to be helpful, but I'm not interested in spoon-feeding answers that are very easily gathered yourself.
To be the devil's advocate, sometimes the information isn't all that easy to dig up. I have spent hours on Nasioc sifting through forums trying to find information. That being said, I agree with the sentiment that its important for him to discover the existing information out there, for multiple reasons.
Yes, I was also going to say something similar to what Curry said as well, the Janus nature of NASIOC and other WRX forums is that there's mountains of information on any given topic, but it's often completely disorganized, contradictory, outdated, opinionated, and often plain incorrect. You can spend many tends of hours trying to piece together an accurate summary of the available info on a topic : ) That said, that can be a helpful process too and was what I was talking about when I said 'do the homework' - try and look it up and synthesize the 'firehose' of info for maybe an hour or couple hours max, then post what you've come up with and see what the consensus here says
You are correct I should do my homework, I have just had little time for anything but work and more work . But soon that will be changing as with the leaves. I don't know, did it used to be red?
I did a bunch of work on a supercharged Miata for a teacher at Dunwoody. Lots of body work, and painted it that maroon color. This was back in 08 though, so maybe he has a different one?
Looks like his car to me but it has been a couple years since I have seen him/car, I think the last Afton hillclimb. Very supercharged.
