2000 2.5rs Common Problems

    00-03 2.5rs (Coupes/4door)

    May be looking to pick one up one or similar GC soon. Any notorious problems/concerns to check for?
    I'm willing to be humbled from obvious to more niche advice -- lay it on me~ tyty

    From Minnesota? Everything from terminal rust, leaking anything, leftover roaches in the ash tray and occasionally an oppressive smell of despair from 15 owners.

    Realistically a ton of rust under neath, in the strut towers. Windshield seal rust too. Standard 2.5L head gasket leaks/bad compression, etc etc.

    Rust rust rust. You can assume you will eventually need a new motor with any Subaru but rust is far harder to fix.
