Ok been messing with this 2000 forester for over a year. My buddie Ryan Dwire helped me do the head gaskets and the damn thing tripped a mass air code and wont run right since we did them. We had done at least a dozen or more head gaskets together so we aren't stupid, but Im begging to think we made a stupid mistake.
I have replaced the mass air sensor with a new one so there is no chance it could be bad. The worse part of all this is the 2000 is a year all of its own so I cant swap parts off my 02
Im begging to hate this car! :banghead:

    Anyone have any ideas??
    Thanks!

I would start by checking to see if ur intake is clogged or not , filter stuffed up , something foreign in there . If nothin is found then it's probably time to get out ur digital multimeter and check the wires on maf for continuity . If someone doesn't beat me too it I'll see about bringing up a wiring diagram off subarunet

Thanks! Ill double check the intake. Running conditions dont change with filter in or out. Wires are next. Thanks for a direction....

Can you describe how it runs? What is the actual code? Does the code come on right after you clear it or after running for a bit?

Have you checked the wires going into the maf?

Start with wires, and also check all air hoses. I've missed one before after removing intake. Maybe try a little MAF cleaner, delete code and see how it runs.
