New guy here, so take it easy on me. Requesting some of your expertise with axle compatibility for my 2003 Baja automatic. Had to replace the trans with a salvage yard unit, which the seller said came from an identical 2003 Baja. Upon arrival, I discovered that while mine has the stub/female axles on the trans, the "new" unit requires the male axles. Interestingly, the numbers of each one are identical: TZ1A4ZCEBA-3K. I've read that the company changed over the male/female design in mid-year, so I guess that accounts for the difference. Don't want to disassemble either trans to place the stubs, so seems the best option is to find a set of compatible axles. Anybody know what axles will crossover?? Thanks.
Interesting, rockauto does list both for your model year. Just so we understand correctly your new transmission needs this style?
No, I need the male splines on the transmission side. My old trans has a stub axle protruding that uses a female axle. I'll check RockAuto, so thanks for the info and reply!
oh gotcha, I saw rockauto had the male axle spline ones too. IIRC the Baja's shared parts with the Legacy wagons
