Just thought I'd update this after a few thousand miles. The install went smoothly, even for a clutch swap virgin. The new clutch feels fantastic; it made me realize just how badly the stock unit was slipping before.

Thanks for the encouragement, it was very rewarding to have done this myself.

My ACT kit was on my doorway when I got home and is now on the bench. Did you find one write up more helpful than others?

    Yup, right back to low/bad!

Uhh, yup. This write-up and thread helped a lot.

I also bought a transmission jack from harbor freight (for $75 or so) and then returned it when I was done. It worked fantastically, I just didn't wanna store it. I'm not sure how I would've gotten it down low enough and with such precision without it.

I notice a little bit of chatter in low RPM but I've decided it's my driving allowing the clutch to engage too quickly and bogging down. My daily beater is a '94 318is with a sloppy clutch, so I have a tough time jumping back and forth now.
