Thanks to all the offers and new posts. I've been working on details with our WI. associate and we are looking into a couple of different spots now. There is a "drive-in" style food joint with girls on roller skates!:yumyum: They are known for supporting car events, and we are currently looking into reserving the diner for the afternoon! But with a diner committing to something like closing off there driveways to the public, we would need a SERIOUS head count! I don't want to close a diner for 10 cars!!!!

Give me some feedback on the "diner" idea....please!:)

anthing would be great as long as a lot of people come. yeah it would be cool jsut to do something but if there is a lot of people than it's way more enjoyable. that would be a good idea. were is this place?

I think the diner idea would be good...but again we need to get the real hand raisers and do a head count. Depending on the date again....Please nowhere were the hills have eyes...:eek2:

That shelter looks nice, in case it rains.

Maybe we could extend the invitation to MWSOC on nasioc to get a few more people?

there USED to be a ton of get togethers, parties at peoples houses, etc etc. then all of the most active people got annoyed with things here and stopped. end of story. feel sorry for all the noobies that didnt get to experience the good ol' days ya know. carry on.

ps- nathan, go on vacation, eat some sausage, and come back less crabby. :)

and i better through out the warning so no one puts their crabby pants on...

i'm merely stating the fact that back when a majority of the most active members agreed with everything here...we had a ton more events and what not. not trying to stir your pot so piss off if you think so.

    cheers!

I was thinking of keeping it a MNSubaru club event. If we can't get enough subies :emo: , then maybe it could be a "all cars" drive. But I truly want this to be a HUGE MNSubaru members get together. I would guess that we may end up with spectators if the event gets big enough, and they would be more than welcome! I will keep everyone posted on event progress!;)

    Thanks, Josh

 No doubt, all Subies=sexxx!:hsugh: I'm hoping to get some good audio of the cars rumbling down 61 too...I'll be travelling down to find some good spots to set up cameras! There are plenty of road side stops for admiring the views of the river...shouldn't be too difficult to find a decent spot for some vids!

    Like I said, I'll keep everyone updated!

***Does anyone have a decent digital video camera with tri-pod that would like to help the club with the video stuff!!?? PM me or post it up if you do! kThanks.***

yeah, I'm thinking that we all meet at Maplewood Mall? or somewhere over there that has a big enough parking lot to accomodate the cars...then depart at 9am-ish. Drive time down, event, drive time back... Be home by 6 or 7pm! If everyone is having a good time, we could definitely stay later! But the itenerary is a 3pm departure from La Crosse...and that would put you home at about 5:30 or 6pm!

I think the dinner is a good idea, that way everyone pays for there own food and drinks. And personally i think it would be better if it was 100% subies.

Well hopefully people can "squash" whatever problems they have, be the bigger man. The past is the past, everyone should just let it go and try to get to this event!! The people that enjoy club get togethers should be able to come have a good time, eat some good food, and check out some haawwt cars!! And some one said to me once "Right now is the 'good 'ol-days", "in twenty years, you are going to look back and remember these times!" Sorry I'm getting so cheesy, but this computer stuff is only so cool. Getting out and hearing and seeing the subies is much more enjoyable!!:rockwoot:

The diner idea will work as long as we have a date and a number of people I really dont think they would have a problem closing it down for a little bit. If it doesnt work out then I can also get some grills and my father works for a food co-op so I could get a few cases of meat pretty cheep if everyone would bring chips and other bbq items plates, ect.... As far as the shelter it worked out really well for our last local event because it rained a little bit and everyone could still hang out and not get all wet. I also know a few huge open lots that we could take some good out door pictures. Let me know if you have any questions about this fine town we call La Crosse!!!

sounds like you need to come on a holiday with me... and no use living in the past... what USED to be USED to be.. it aint like that now... I aint crabby I is just stating FACTS homey... and I aint talking parties with beer and ice race antics.. I dont find that enjoyable... in fact I did when I was 17... but somewhere between being a drunk at 23 and 26 I GREW up (somewhat) and realised how stupd I was and looked... but I guess when all those around you are doing it you are only as silly as the guy next to you... kinda like a lemming really...

Why you think I am never out and about... FS aint a club meet to me... although I see it as a good time to get to know other 'enthusiasts'

I will be going on holiday... I will be haivng fun, I will come back less crabby but unfortunately it will only last as long as it takes to get back onto the forums... ha ha cause although my mood may change the pissiness wont within 5 weeks...

I say if people truly dont like what's going on dont come on here... dont stir the pot... move on... most the guys one one side are on awd addicts (that will help to grow that forum) and the woot etc etc.... its ok... ME, I am on both... and if what you say is true and its how it was with the 'OLD' crew running this club then why do I not see too much happening in teh 'other' club.... and I use club liberally...

I am all for both clubs, and growing both, cause ultimately both are full of local guys who run in similar circles... I can state things without bias cause I am not involved with either party.... and truthfully I dont see a lot said form one side.. whether good ro bad they seem to move forward.. we all should for the benefit of making it a clubnot just a forum with a local hangout....

If dues is what makes a club become more 'club' like then I will pay $50 a year if it means the forum grows, changes looks, more features added, more events like Josh is trying to organise yada yada... not what used to be... although some of that could help too... at least SOMETHING happening...

either way Justin you can get attitude towards what I said thats your perogative, but I wasnt pointing fingers at you, but it seems more am]nd more apparant when you keep reacting like that that you havent let it go ormoved forward... stop letting it eat at you man... whats past is past... lets move forward like ADULTS... thankyou for ALL you DID for the club in the OLD days, now I want to thank you for what positive stuff you can or if you want to offer the club for the future, whether you are leadership or not...

tear shed... my 0.02 worth... now back on topic...

Josh the restaurant sounds good, food is taken care of, great cars, good looking women on skates, I am down for it... then we could always head to that undercover area for a formal club type pic and small meeting to maybe organise some more future events!!!!

Yeah its at a long park right on the river. Its the same park that the loggers play in if you guys have any idea what I am talking about. It is also the spot for the south side fest grounds!! For drunk fest!!!

This could be an option if we do a 2007 MNSubaru Club vid, but I think this vid will mainly just be shots of the event in La Crosse and the ride there and back! Was hoping that your dash cam would get us some footage to edit in Matt.:dunno: I think if we get 15 or 20 of the people going to hook up dash cams or have a co-pilot taking some vids on the way down and back, we could "clip" together a nice event vid!;)

Well I'm going to try to make sure it happens this time. There are enough people with digital cameras that take 9 or 10 minutes of video, would pull maybe a minute or two from each tape depending on quality and interest! I think if people want to see the event online, they will make an effort to get some shots and contribute! Mmmmkay!?:)
