Sorry guys but I can't go, I asked off work the second I got back from sno*drift and it looks like it's not possible. There's always next time :emo:
I know, by the time I got back, everyone already asked off for that weekend. I would have needed at least a month and a half advance.
Are we doing Numbers again on the sides of the cars? if so, Phil i would buy one of your awesome looking ones... #29
I think I will most likely head up for the day on sat. If things go well (and i motivate jeff) there will be another geo there.
I will be bringing my laptop with Joel's timing program......numbers would make things so much easier for those doing the timing.
Yea a mile is not long enough... we need at least 3 to 4 miles of track! Make a mile long drag strip.. Double track w/ snow bank in the middle to prevent collisons
It would be extremely dangerous to hit snow at such speeds. Even if you don't roll, you'll do a good bit of damage.
u can still hit them! id rather have someone hit a snow bank and ruin there car then slide out and hit another car...
Im not going to plow a drag strip, there isnt enough sonow to make a big enough bank to keep the cars from crossing. I will plow another course so people who show up thursday and friday night have somewhere to practice. The bigger course is for Saturday only, no driving on it until we start racing. We will start timing from a dead stop this time, I can put a little sand down for traction if you want. With the mile+ corse we should be able to have more than 1 car on it at the same time.
THIS. PEOPLE NEED SOMETHING TO GET OUT OF THEIR VAGINAS. I hope we can run more than 1 car at a time - i mean, it took a long time just on the short course to get 3 runs in
I am sure you can run 2 or 3 cars at once. the only reason for 1 at a time is because of the high probability of someone spinning out at the hair pin last time.
Maybe have a marker 1/4 mile down the track to pace them out. 1st car makes it to the marker, green light for the second car. And how are we going to start with the 'dig' start? Someone going to yell "GO!"?
yes from dig this time, I didnt think the way we started last time was really fair. I would think we could have 3 cars at once, the snow isnt very deep so no one should get stuck. The snow banks are only a foot high.
just park the timing car near the start.....that way we can easily make sure that people don't go until the timing people know your number, and are ready for you. carl, with a track this long, even with a few people on it at a time, it'll still take at least as long to get timed runs in. btw....I volunteer myself and my car to be the timing booth, as long as I can get a few runs in myself.
oh yea I know - that's why I hoped we could have multiple cars to keep the time similar, otherwise it'd take all day. if i come I can help you time/photograph
