haha im now going up with the friday morn crew... **** yes for getting out of my work meeting :-D ill pay for it monday tho.
boooo!!! i wanna leave now! damn new job with no vacation time yet :emo: gotta suffer through a half day tomm too. oh well, hope your feeling better Rich
I have the oval cousrse and alot of the track done, it didnt turn out as bad as I thought. we got around 6inches of snow today so it made some nice fluffy banks. Im the only one whos gotten stuck so far
maybe there might be some last minute people tomorrow. If I sell my laptop perhaps i can make it too.
I just thought I'd say, I've got lots of webspace on NumbchuxConversions.com, and have been playing with a nifty Photo Album generating program. so I can upload large batches of pictures and easily display them all. also, I've got a card reader (might want to bring a USB cable and maybe software just in case) on my laptop. so if you guys want me to host your pictures, flag me down at some point, and I can pull stuff off your camera.
Looks like kelly finally showed up, he had some story about stoping at a bar in Duluth on his way up last night and spending the night with some guys:dunno:
No one is allowed to posts of the ice race this year. gota go, just stopped in to grab some mortars and bottle rockets
well i lost my exhaust while up there, so open dp all the way home:eek3: freaking annoying. but had a good time. thanks again Rich
Yeah, I saw some haze in the air in front of me, and a Geo on the side of the road. Our group pulled over and sniper1rfa towed him a few miles into Cook.
I had a great time up there, Thanks again Rich for hosting this. The track was short, but a blast. The silver wagons dominated, getting the three fastest times. I'll boot up my laptop sometime tonight and post the times.
Sorry i didn't get to Orr. When I saw the snow coming down Saturday morning I had a feeling there was going to be allot of car accidents and sure enough there were 4 seperate ones in the morning alone. I am on call and the only shooter on the weekends. I hope the event turned out fun and the ice was good
Ya, the wagons rocked it! I had all-season Goodyear Assurance tires--went alright except for on the glare ice--which was every corner during the timing
wow.....and someone was saying before we left thank goodness we didn't have any catastrophic engine failure.... my wheel bearing commit ritual suicide though. mlgez pulled a roller bearing out of the snow stuck to the wheel......and then was kind enough to drive me to Hibbing to make a last ditch effort to get the stuff fixed (which, btw, I still owe you for!). anyway, it's still there, and I'm home.
yea good times! I shot over 300 pics. I will batch process and upload later tonight and do some serious pp on my favs
I already posted my pics on nasioc... http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=20709843#post20709843
also, I'm genuinely curious. did the level of immature drunken distructiveness go up drastically this year? or was it just the fact that I wasn't in a private room. either way (and I know you're going to piss, moan and mock for saying it, but I'm doing it anyway), I'm extremely disappointed. shenanigans are one thing. but not everyone wants to participate. I intentionally stayed in our "quiet" cabin, because I wanted very little to do with that BS, and yet.....
^ i agree some people still manage to fail epically. i enjoy drinking and some shenanigans (fwd pete), but some need to learn to behave a little better around people they either dont know or know that dont want anything to do with all the madness. though i also was pleasantly surprised with how many others handled them selves, and i still had an amazing weekend for sure.
Cabin 5 was very quiet, it was great. I heard a few cars drive past and one horn blast and that was it. I ventured out onto the ice a few times after dark and didn't really have any problems.
alright, so if I do this again, get my deposit in uber early and get a spot out there..... yea, apparently people thought it to be a good idea to throw a lit bottle rocket into our cabin, with many sleeping people. than later that night, decided to go to a cabin with all the lights off, come in, turn the lights on, yell, run around, wake a bunch of us up (I'm sure I wasn't the only one), leave crap in the kitchen, and then leave, with the lights still on and door open.
thanks guys for keeping the cabins alot better than last year. This is the report my Mom gave...cabin #5 was left VERY clean so was cabin 3, cabin 4 was was ok. Cabin #1 was a little dirty but not bad, and #2 was the worst but not bad by any means. That was just the order. Im glad that everyone I talked to had a good time, I thought there was ALOT less shenanegans than last year. But I wasnt around all the time.
Yes, we tried our best to keep cabin 2 clean. We cleaned this morning for hours. Thank you to Jason, Aaron(and g/f), Stephanie, Rich and Karen for helping with the cleaning in the cabin this morning. It would have been nice if everyone who was parting in the cabin, come help with the cleaning and dishes, but no big deal we managed. I would like to thank Rich and his family again this year for having us up. You guys rock!
Not surprising that we kept cabin 5 clean. Everybody in there was an early to bed/early to rise type fellow. By 8:30 everybody in the cabin was looking pretty well beat.
Beth and I were woke up last night buy a couple of people... they yelled there peace, and then said good night and moved on. We did not enjoy it, but 5hit happens when you get that many drunks in one area.
yes that happened in cabin 4 as well, then candy was all over the place in the morning, every part of the floor was covered, not to sure how that happened...
Thanks again rich i had a blast and i was in cabin #4 which was quiet until people did a run through throwing chocolate everywhere... I have like 3 tapes of blackmail..... on pretty much everyone haha
