2008 STi Optional BBS?

    No, the base in the US has 18x8.5" RX8/350Z/nameyourknockoffhere-style rims. BBS upgrade is also 18x8.5. Supposedly they weigh ~ 7lbs less than the base wheels, but given the lack of lightness of the old BBS I'm a bit skeptical of that.

    There is a 17" option for JDM, maybe other markets, not clear on whether they are BBS or more like the Enkies from the '07 Limited.

    I haven't seen a weight on the new non BBS rim but they look heavy. I guess time will tell on that one. The 05+ STI BBS rims were pretty light for the bolt pattern they had. If you were to line up all the rims available at 114x5 I bet they'd be close to the end of the light side. People just think they're heavy (and they are) compared to the 04 which had a different bolt pattern.
