2009 ice race January 15th-18th

sounds good. was just making sure it was not something I missed that I needed to know.

 

WOOTTTT i cant wait!!!

 

went out on the lake today, there is 14inches of ice and around a foot of snow. We had -31 last night and there is still slush on the lake, but its not much.
we are supposed to get up to 2 feet of snow this weekend and then its supposed to get real cold again. So plowing is gona suck AGAIN this year, hopefully the old plow truck doesnt die.

if you plow it soon will that eliminate the chance of slush like the first race last year?

 

it should never be as bad as last year, the reason it was real bad was that we only had 6 inches of ice when it snowed 2 feet, and then it was in the 30's after that.

Im still kinda leary about driving the 3/4 ton plow truck out there, if I just leave it alone most of the slush willl find its way back into the lake as the ice gets thicker.
I dont think the slush will get as bad as last year.
I will probably get out next week and stake the course out and do a little plowing.

also beth and I will probably be making chili for cabin 3 again and whoever else wants some. we usually do a triple batch so there is plenty. Will have to see if we can get some meat from either her dad (who raises buffalo) or the meat taxi.

jeff I will let you know if we can not get some buffalo from her dad. with the buffalo meat instead of the beef it is less greasy and to me tastes better without all the grease. but I will let you know. thanks for the offer.

Im going to try some plowing tomorrow before the next big storm hits. We got 20 inches last week and we are supposed to get the same this weekend. The lake is slushy by shore, hopefully I can get it all plowed up.So there probably will be one nice course and hopefully a small one, I will know more tomorrow.

I will, its been around -10 for highs all week and I didnt want to get stuck out there and freeze in again like last year

That is correct. You have your bed reserved and no-one else can take it. A lot of people won't be up until Friday.
