it was -40 last night and all the cars started without being pluged in,its only going to be zero tonight so you girlies should be ok

 

I am planning on hitting the road around 4 as well. I might see some of you on the road. I am going to Duluth tonight though, then Orr tomorrow for the day.

I will make sure and get you the $20 race fee tomorrow when I show up. are the stickers cool? or are they rainbow unicorns?

I wish I could, but the money's just not there (gas, food, lodging). And since I just started back to college for a new degree that's where I need to try and put my focus cash-wise.

I heard someone crashed and some bumpers were eaten by snow banks..but thats all I know...I also want pics which I am sure will be posted when everyone gets back tomorrow night..

 

Hey Rich, I think left my jacket in cabin 5, i left this morning. if you could talk to either dan (boomer) or dave (scuba steve) and have then grab it for me that would be awesome!

How did the timing go today?

 

oohh yeah lots of carnage.

The timing went well. I didnt see it all, but most of it seemed to be 2 stop watches at the start line. I think the fast time was around 1'52 or so. With lots of people in the 2'00 area.

 

Who wrecked their car? Anyone breakanything important?

 

nothing too important was broken as far as I know. I think quite a few people lost the beads on their tires.

If you guys up in Orr see this before you go, 35 South is starting to get slippery. It looks like there is a cold band with snow between Duluth and Forest Lake. The roads are starting to freeze, and get slippery. I made it through before it got real bad, but I can easily see it being an issue. The good thing is once you hit Forest Lake it is warmer and the roads are fine but covered in wet slushy stuff.

Also HUGE thanks to Rich and Karen for hosting this again. It was alot of fun and I am already looking forward to future events!

 

I did the timing and gave the shhet to boomer, all I remember is that sniper1rfa was 1st in the snow tire class with 1.52 and Carl and Kyle were tied for 2nd with 1.54. Im sure Boomer will post the rest when he gets home.

only damage i had was that i broke one of my fog lights!

also, i lost/left my ipod up there...so if anyone comes across a black 80 G with vecro on it its mine....
I also left my hippo stickers on top of the frige in cabin 2!

 

I took out my front and rear bumper, ripped off my left running board, and busted up my evap system. :eek3:

I'm in stitches over the whole thing.

Were the snow banks frozen pretty solid? It seems like A LOT of people ripped body parts off. Isn't that expensive to replace/fix?

 

Well, there was a ton of snow up there, so there were parts of the course that were slick and had large snowbanks full of slush (which is basically like frozen ice chunks). Hitting slush walls at even slow speeds destroyed more then a few bumpers. It was quite the carnage.
