good, pk! Older kids really need it according to the sites I've read. Our toys that we've bought are good for ages 3-10.
I hate to do this, but I'm taking a last minute trip to Washington State on the 18th. Jason and Steph, I'll coordinate with you to drop off some toys next week before I leave. Sorry to bow out at the last minute, it would've been great to see this happen again.
bump for toys!!!!!! I'll have more details in the next few hours but I volunteered to drop off the toys gathered at my work. Itl looks like it may multiple car loads. I've pretty much got the Forester full and can bring the STi too but I'm sure we will need a lot more room(one person is bringing two carloads to work tues/wed this week:eek3 I work about two miles from the menards we met at last year. Maybe we can use my work as the meeting spot or a few people could meet there beforehand to load some cars. I'll check back here when I get home this afternoon.
Hey Readymix, Have there been any changes or updates to the toys that are needed more than others? Do they still need 0-2 age and 15-17 age more than others? Thanks for running point on this!
Send readymix a PM about this, it sounds like a good idea to both of us. Yep! You'll also find that those are the hardest "toys" to find too ... they just aren't made for kids those ages
Updated first post. New meeting spot is linked. Thanks to BadbennyB for the pre-meeting spot and the huge donation of toys.
No prob What time are we meeting/departing? * everyone please keep in mind this is my place of employment and I would like to keep it that way. Our wide open parking lots are for parking not playing. The owner as well as security, a Mpls police officer(He's a real jerk too-Hi Dan) will be there.
badbenny, I will have room in the forester as well to help haul the toys... I look forwad to this....
I want to depart at 8 sharp. We have to be there and ready to go before 9am. I am probably going to make a quick post as a reminder, giving just pertinent info.
Just to give credit where its due-I'll be bringing a couple toys donated by Justin and Mike @ Grimmspeed. B u M p !
It doesn't look like I will be able to join you guys after all. I had planned on coming, but I got asked to come in to work on Saturday morning. I will be bringing my toys to a drop off spot here in St.Cloud though. Thanks again to everyone who helped organize this, wish I could come!
^^^^some would say the dirtier the better. Sorry you can't make it Box . One last bump from me. check link on in first post for meeting location. Sounds like teh mix wants to head out at 8 am sharp. I'll try to be there around 7 but really 7:30-45 would be sufficient. Dress warm as there will be some standing around. Thats all I've got I'll let Jason check in with any last minute thoughts if he has any.
I'll be half-awake, but I'll be there with a couple of toys! Also, thinking about stealing some of the toys my work was gonna turn-in and bring them to make us look even better :hsugh::biggrin:.
we'll be there. puppy's coming too since he's usually too riled up that time of day to be trusted alone.
See you kids tomorrow morning. I have a cargo-area full. Those of you that haven't yet will get to meet "the burrito boy" Max.
Pretty good turnout this morning. Between us and the cub scouts who showed up at kare11 just after us we did a good job of filling that tent I think. I think badbennyb and his company, R&D Systems, deserve some credit for the huge amount of toys they donated, it took several cars to haul it all there.
This was really cool this morning. I had a good time. Getting over there was interesting. You guys haul, lol. Of course I don't know my way around Minneapolis that well so I was doing everything I could to keep up and not miss the turns.
