I might get one, fish for a month, sell it, then get a PS3. Anybody interested in a Vex in a month or so?
went to lake waconia yesterday. nothing but small perch. i need new fishing line on my pole. what kind of line are u guys using?
Where were you on Waconia? It really depends on what you're fishing for. I usually use 2lb. mono my panfish rods. A couple clear, a couple yellow. I usually strip off 5-10' as needed which is usually every-other time out. I'm not particular with brands, but usually get Stren. For my heaiver jigging/Walleye rods, I use 6lb. Fireline Crystal, but for the last 5', I have 6lb. fluorocarbon. I've had great luck with Berkley Vanish for the fluorocarbon: Berkley Fireline Micro Crystal: I would try this stuff:
i'll have to give one of those a try. im not sure on the exact location, its not too far from the marina.
Caught an 18 inch Walleye this weekend! Let him go. Kept 2 good sized Craps and ate them . mmmmmmmm:yumyum:
I took a co-worker fishing on Saturday evening from 3-6p and caught about 40 perch. Most were small but we had about 10-12 in the pail but I decided to put em back as I wouldn't have had time to clean them. I thought I would take a couple pics of our house for you guys. It looks a little more cluttered than it really is
i went out to spring lake last saturday. its close to prior lake. my buddies and i caught our crappie limit in less than an hour.
/\/\ Tonka. Yeah, I've heard Spring has been great for Crappie this year. I need to get out there, I've got two buddies that live less than a mile from Spring.
Been to tonka the last couple of fridays and havent caught anything yet. Where abouts are you guys at tonka? recommendations on spots? I need to catch fish soon!
tonka is pretty hot right now, but mostly little fish mixed in. here and there you'll get a bigger 9 plus inch one, but you got to work for them. the secret is, go where the crowd is!
Any recommendations of jigs that you guys are using on tonka? Also I am usually out there anywhere between 10pm and 5 am.
I like to use the smallest size j.r. jalapeno tungston jig tipped with either a live minnow or a wax.
nice perch. which lake were u on? i been fishing spring lake for the past month and have always gone home happy.
A couple buddies and I hit up Big Sandy and Mille Lacs on Saturday. This is the bottom of a 5 gallon pail.
yeah, i plan on hitting up green in chisago this friday. my old model 30 started up on the first 3 pulls yesterday. good luck sat
been out on minnetonka and on bone lake. but on bone lake got 50ft from shore and only had 2inch of ice(sunday)
We fished the tournament on Lake Peltier just outside of Centerville yesterday. There was 6-8” of good ice just about all over the lake. There were areas that the snow had blown away and those maybe had 10” or so, but the places that were drifted might have only had 6”. I don’t know much about the metro lakes but I would guess it’s similar. There were a few HUGE areas of DEEP slush that we had to power through on the sled to get to the other side. Two guys on a "cruiser" 600 towing a two-man Clam made for an interesting experience. It was our first time on the lake so we didn't do very well but there were some really nice fish weighed. When we were at the weigh-in, some hillbilly in a full size truck (like a Blazer or something) came hauling-ass out onto the lake and went out into the middle of the bowl on the south end. I couldn't believe he made it that far, but didn't stick around to see if he made it off the lake or not.
^so there was a tournament. I saw plenty of ice houses as we were coming back from Green. Any luck? Green was pretty slow.
i went to long lake yesterday. fishing was decent. it took about 2hrs. to get my limit of crappies. there was about 6in of ice with about 6in of frozen snow on top.
went out this past weekend. caught alot of crappies, but most of them were small. kept the 9-10' inch ones but it was hard to limit out on those bigger guys.
