2010 LOL Thin Ice Rally-X Pics/Videos

Unfortunately, a lot of them are blown out due to me shooting into the sun, I'll have to edit the best of those when I get a chance. I haven't had a lot of time lately to do stuff, I was reviewing photos last night during class, and only because I had nothing better to do (including pay attention). I'd normally do a second review, but I'm getting bothered for photos via AIM so I'm just throwing it all up there.

I always do, just never until everything's organized... like it is now.

Nothing is cropped, nothing is edited, these are just the decent raw images I pulled off the camera. Chances are near 100% that any shot you like, I can make it better. I was having trouble with two main things this event; the first was the sun combined with the snow, lots of reflection into the lens, and while the cars were mostly correctly exposed, I was having trouble shooting toward the sun later in the day with things getting blown out those can be fixed with some time and effort. The second thing is my lens, that telephoto's been through far too many dusty events at this venue and doesn't zoom smoothly anymore, and I was noticing it was having trouble focusing at a distance. Oh well.

Great pics! My desktop will be awesome for another month (until the next rally-x, of course).

Can't give the photographers enough credit for not only standing in wet, muddy snow and taking the time to upload and organize them.

 

You have no idea how much of a pain in the ass everything you mentioned is... but shooting is fun, and the past few posts are what really make it worth it in the end.

 

I'm kinda of partial to this shot....



It even has SCCA in the shot!!

 

Given the choice of getting my car filthy or getting Mark's car filthy, I chose the option that required less clean up for me.

Unfortunately, I won't get that option again. Mark has a rule for sharing, if you beat him in his own car, you don't get to drive it again. But, it was worth it! :banana:
