One thing to keep in mind is that we will be doing reserved numbers this year.

So don't expect to get 7 or 17, or 13, for example (Kerry, Kathy and Erik, respectively).

How do I reserve my number? I have 32 for AutoX and that is the number I registered with for this event.

I should be able to make it out now that I'm switching jobs. It'll feel good to be able to get out and do some shooting again.

177 or 771 would work too. especially since you would only have topull 1s off and not have to touch the 7s.

No, they wouldn't. Only special cases get 3-digit numbers now. Like if you bring your rally car and it has a 3-digit assigned Rally-America number, then you get to use that.

The standard is now two-digits. Timing and Scoring have been almost 100% volunteer, non-competitor positions (thank you so much Mary, Carrie and Amanda!), and we are working to make life as easy as possible for them. Less numbers to read off a car, less numbers to hear on the radio, less numbers to type, less confusion.

This is just an LoL region championship thing. It's not something official from national, so outside of the LoL Region events it would be different.

Also regarding reserved numbers. The people who qualified for year-end awards from 2009 were going to be given first pick then it was going to be opened up. I'm not sure where that process is at, but Kathy (who co-drives the red 2.5RS with her dad) was going to be handling keeping track, and when I get a lit, I will put it online (or the regular scca-lol webmaster will, more likely).

Dang, my number magnet is 3 digits :-(.

It is likely that I will enter in this one (looked like too much fun last year, when I watched!). I will know for sure when I get back from 100AW.

If you would like to reserve a permanent number for the 2010 Rally Cross season please Email [email protected] with your name and number that you would like to reserve. The number must be a one or two-digit, whole number with no preceding 0. Three digit numbers will only be allowed if the number is permanently attached to the vehicle, for example a stage rally competition vehicle.

oh heck yeah! She needs to pay as per usual, have her own helmet (assuming she will be in the car when not driving). We'll go over the "how-to's" at the rally x....

if she's not in the car when you're on course you could easily share a helmet, provided it fits both of you

I was out checking out and prepping the course this morning. It should be usable and a ton of fun for next weekend. Hopefully it doesn't warm up too much and turn it into a mud pit. David, the land owner said we should be go to go. Maybe a couple inches of mud under the packed snow but nothing car swallowing.

We will have a small paddock area for this event so parking will be limited. Parking on the driveway will only be open to trucks and trailers and for swapping tires if you need to do so.We will not be using it for a paddock area.
I was also informed the police will be watching for speeders the day of the event, so as always drive safely and responsibly to and from the event.

Let's have a great kick off to the season! See you out there next Sunday.

Because of changing conditions Dave and I will be down there the day before the event and will give an update that evening.

Hey guys, just joined the site. I've got a couple questions about this rally-x season, and I looked around for some more info but couldn't seem to find any. This event isn't far from me, so I'm planning on coming out to at least watch but didn't know if I should entertain the possibility of running in it or not.

Is this similar to auto-x, where you run your street car? Or do you guys run built rally cars? I've got a 04 WRX with swift springs, am I too low? Also are there classes as far as mods go, or is it just "run what you brung"? I've never ran a rally race event, but I've driven some ice road courses and think I would love to try the rally-x world.

    Thanks guys, Keats

Keats - It is "run what you brung" but there will be classes for stock, rally prepared, and rally modified cars. Most guys and gals there will have their street cars although there's usually some purpose built rally cars there but you wont be in the same class. Personally i would race if i were in your position, everyone there is very helpful and you would have a blast. Hope to see ya there!

Most everyone runs there street cars, a few rally preped car show up.... a lot of people also run lowered cars, i ran my wrx wagon on sti struts and springs at this venue last year, and had no issues.

as far as classing goes, there are different classes.... specifics can be found in the vehicle classification section of the rules http://cms.scca.com/documents/Rally Rules/2010_RallyCross_Rules.pdf

judging by your name, if that holds true, you would be in the mod 4wd class.....

So, there is a few too many things to get fixed on the white ice racer in time for next weekend and the wagon currently is sitting too low and i dont really want to mess with suspension....

with that being said.... is there anyone who would let me co-drive their car with them, i can offer help and some instruction if it is wanted...... :)
