So my sister backed into my future brother in-laws brand new Leggy this morning on the way to work. Yeah, I guess she didn't see the car behind her when she got in her car :ugh: and doesn't look behind her when backing up :eek3: ????? Worst of all she was driving a FORD

So he needs a new front bumper. I doubt they are going to go through insurance, unless the price makes it worth it.

    2011 Leggy - not a GT

Where is a good place to find a bumper?

Where is a good place to paint a bumper?

    Thanks

Are you looking to install the bumper yourself (fourtwo say)?

Yeah if he doesn't do insurance I would help him install the bumper to save him some money. I have taken mine off a few times, it is a pretty easy process.

    "fourtwo say" ..... don't follow?

Thank Bielke, I will be getting the bumper from you... my Grandpa died this morning... so when we are going to be in to order is still up in the air because I am not sure when we will be in town.... do you need to order it from Subaru or are they in stock (stupid question I am sure)? If so how long would it take to get?

Anywhere else I should look for paint that will do a good job for less? He isn't the richest man in the world, so saving some money is the best option if we can.

Are you sure he needs a bumper? Even if there is a hole in it most body shops can fix it for under 200 bucks. I rearended a truck with a reciever hitch in my dodge ram and they patched and painted my bumper for 200 bucks.

I haven't seen it yet, just found out this morning. That is a good idea.

Also just was told that $250 to paint the bumper is a great price (Thanks Bielke)... can you tell I have never had to paint something before!

I still have no idea how she missed the car! The driveway is flat, she had to walk outside and look at the car to get into hers.... and how can you not look backwards or even use mirrors before backing up?

So, it was her fiance's car? or another sister's fiance?

Definitely look into repair if the damage is minimal. Also, check for bent headlight brackets and such.

Technically her boyfriend... but we hope he sticks around. I mean he is cool and he drives a Subie! In fact he is the only cool boyfriend she has ever had (coming from the big brother)

    Sheen,
Anyone you would say I should bring it to for repair if that is an option?

If he's paying out of pocket and the damage is minimal (patch and paint), pretty much any of the usuals will do a good job (raymond, lemettry's, hamline, etc...).

Find out what his insurance deductible is, pull off the bumper and inspect for hidden damage, then go from there.

Agreed, $250 is a good price for painting. On a 2011 you don't want the neighbor to rattle can it.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather.

    Thanks man.

Well I talked to him on the phone, still haven't seen it yet. He said it is pretty busted up so I am thinking we are going to be buying a new one and painting it. He didn't want to "repair" it, he was pretty set on a new one.... but we'll see what happens
