It is a rather large undertaking, making a non boosted car boosted isn't exactly a walk in the park..
He should bring the parts to show off anyway. Hopefully I'll make it out!

Yeah sorry. It was a joke.
Forgot to mention that I make a lot of jokes and none of them are funny.
Please don't laugh at them, it only encourages me.

Of course....I need a Engine Management System....and they aren't cheap....looks like I need to wait longer than I needed. HKS' FCon iS is almost $900. That's annoying, spent all this time and money and now the other most important part is missing. Ugh.

Said it needs one. Don't need HKS specific one. I'm going to double check with RS Motors but otherwise there are no tuning components included. Just the supercharger hardware.

Does RS have the EcuTek programmer?

Also, I'd really recommend you get a good wideband, to keep an eye on your engine. It's worth the money.

Just do the ecutek cable its $500 I belive. Yea expensive but alot less messing around then A standalone. I like my aem wideband I had in my wrx. Can get them used for under $200

I found an AEM one that NIB was $300+, that's easier to do if I need it. Emailed Ron so we will see what he says.

Modifys your timing based on your ethonol % in the fuel so if you get some bad gas or w.e it will pull timing to help the motor not run lean and blow. Not sure how much timing it can pull n what not but gas worked great for me when I can't find e85 just dump in 91 93 w.e they have and drive gently for a couple miles till it can adjust and your good to go.

Oil cooler ordered. Should be here this week. After talking with HKS support and MAP, all I need is the ECUTek to tune it. Now it's a waiting game .

Alright looking for input yet again. I need to pick up 2, maybe one, oil gauges for the super instal. Oil temp and pressure gauges. Which brand do you use/trust? Best bang for the buck (prefferably no bang)?

I'd rather trust engine management to the company that developed the kit and knows it wool work. Better than an unknown, then several more hundred dollars on a tune by someone who hasn't touched it and might blow up your ****ing engine figuring it out

IMO, Oil Pressure and Oil Temp are somewhat overlapping. If you're limited on gauge space, I'd pick one or the other and Add in boost and wideband AFR or EGT's.

I'm running the Prosport Premium Oil Pressure and Boost gauges. Both have been working fine. Sometimes I question the accuracy of the oil pressure gauge, but I've been too lazy to cross-reference it with the mechanical oil pressure gauge I bought.

Space isn't the issue, just rather the biggest parts of the build. I really don't need boost because superchargers stay at a constant boost. At a minimum I really just need the oil temp gauge to keep an eye on that.

Thanks for the input! Ill take a look into those.

I really like the AEM gauges I got, not as expensive as Defi's etc but a definite step up in quality from Prosport (no offense TMF : )

Oil temp and AFR sounds like a good combo - for me it's worth it having AFR on a modified car to catch fueling/tune problems before they cause damage.

Almost ready for the instal. 1(2) gauge(s) need to be ordered, injectors and pump. Then off she goes for surgery.

fwiw I find AFR incredibly boy racer and annoying unless you can turn it off/hide it. That said you could get one of those AEM/Zeitronix/Westac/PLX multigauges.

Functionally, it will come in handy if you can hook it up to a peripheral to log. But really, you'll want other gauges to tip you off that you even need to log in the first place (when there's a subtle issue that's not audible or obvious). Personally I'd go with oil temp since it'll also be useful for letting you know when you're actually at operating temp. Then maybe egt if you're limited to 2. Make sure it has peak/hold unless you plan to be staring at a gauge near redline.

One of those dashdaq/camp2/dgauge obdII interfaces could be useful depending on what data you're looking to gather, how and when you plan to use it, how you'd like it displayed, and whether you plan to access it later or in conjunction with other data.

DeatschWerks 750 or an 800 plus pump.

The only gauge I know for sure I want/need is the oil temp.

As for a tuner, short of leaving the state, no one will tune it because it's "too much work" or "not enough of a market." So I'll probably use full blown to get it running, then fine tune with RS when issues arise.

If you use full blown to tune your car, you are a ****ing retard. Seriously, just buy the ****ing HKS software. You'll spend less than you would if you had it tuned at two different places, especially when one of those places has blown up, and this is not a joke, every single car that anyone i personally know has brought there.

I would if they did. They don't supply it. The fcon is only a management system. Nothing preloaded. It would also need to be tuned by a HKS tuner with my car. Of which there are none in MN....
