So I pulled the trigger on the car I should have bought back in May. I traded in my RS3 for the Type RA at Morries Minnetonka. Scott Putnam helped me out so much today. Big shout out to him. So after 3 short months, I am back in an STi. The car is absolutely amazing and in so many ways what I was missing on my 15 STi.
Or they have this one if you're going to DC, here's their description This decal looks much like the classic Spec C Type RA Nürburgring decal, but it's updated to highlight a much scarier, more hair-raising circuit in our neck of the woods -- the Washington Beltway. (You think we're joking? Have you DRIVEN the Beltway?) 10" wide, 5.5" high. Set of two three-color (silver, red, black) decals.
I'm guessing he regularly parked it in the garage and his house is made of wood and other flammable materials. VW/Audi cars are perfect if you park outdoors away from wooden structures and can sprint 100ft in case of emergency.
That's a proper wing! Congrats! Readymix nailed the Audi's tendencies. I had one catch fire. While I was driving. On a bridge. It exploded.
The major factor and the reason for the switch was I missed having my manual. The RS3 was scary fast, and nice and plush, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it other than that it wasn't a manual. I tried to get over it, but in the end just couldn't. It wasn't engaging to drive.
Congratulations, beautiful ride. From what I understand they only made 50 of the 500 in the CBS. Unicorn status confirmed.
I really liked the interior of the rs3 at the auto show. I haven't seen an RA in person but I like the wheels and wing.
Yes, it does have heated seats. I really do wish they would have put navigation in it though. This actually drives better than my 15 ' and is actually quite comfortable to drive. I think the White one was from a guy that was at Cars and Coffee. I watched the September video on YouTube after sorting through a couple of vids only dedicated to a Lambo/GTR/Z28 revving their engines 1000 times.
Factory nav sucks derp balls. What a waste of real estate and money. I would rather have a cassette player. Disclaimer: we have two cars with it. I wasn't disparaging the OP.
You know, my Audi had factory Nav and you are right, it was not the greatest and let me down a few times, but it would get me close enough. Sometimes just having the map on the screen is good enough too. I wish there was some app in which I could get the nav on the screen and have it come from my phone, lol.
I don't think the RA comes with Android Auto. Would be nice though if it did and I just don't know about it.
Had it come out as a 2019 model it would have. You gotta love how Subaru likes to dish out features a little at a time. The head unit the 2019 models come with that has Android Auto/Carplay support has been available since the Impreza re-design to the global platform. So what, two years ago?
So, this makes me wonder, if I were to find a crashed 2019 STi and pulled the radio out of it would it be plug and play?
There might be harness adapter needed if the Android/Apple software have a dedicated wire from the USB port.
