:+1: I think a day of free roam to get a feel for the ice say Friday. Then some time trials on saturday and sunday. But if there is some sort of elimination for sunday there should definitely be a second track for messing around on when your not racing.
That sounds like a good idea. I could make 2 tracks if the snow isnt too deep, one for Time trials and 1 to mess around on. pedroske---- Dogs are fine to bring, as long as they dont cause trouble, I dont really know how to explain how private the rooms are, most of the cabind have rooms upstairs and down, I can be sure to put you and your gf in a quieter cabin if you want
-24 last night, -4 for the high today and -28 tonight. if anyone is worried about ice for the next race I dont think you have to worry now
Any fresh snow Rich? The North metro got about a three inch blanket over night. On my way home from the girlfriends this morning gave me a flashback of the last ice race as I was e-braking around!:yumyum: Yes Nate, the e-brake is still workin tiiitease! Thanks again mate. Rich, anything look familiar about that avatar!?
my idea is to set up a written schedule to do the timing. each person will only have to do it for an hour out of the day.
:werd: 1 hour wouldn't hurt anyone...unless the w00t used the time keeper for target practice!
^ you dont need snow to make the course just put up soem cones and the course will form on its own. as for the timing stuff. if everyone does an hour shift we could time all day. last year we only timed for a few hours. 2 or 3 and i thought that was plenty. i dont think there should be and elimintation. you just wait your turn to run and run it like normal, except someone is timing you. so you can still go nuts but your time will be bad, or you can go all out and go just for time, or both. thats the beuaty of it.
I couldn't make the last one (I was in London / Switzerland at the time) but I should be able to make this one, and would love to attend. Put my GF and I down tentatively.
WHAT!? you still got it? YES! then if you might sell it later down the road i might still have an chance to buy it!
I'll probably have to sell it regardless of wether I want to or not in May if I end up moving to the people's republic of Kalifornia... Any California nazi, erm, I mean cop would have a field day with my car and it would be impounded in no time out there I'll miss Michigan's snow and liberal emissions laws
get a hold of me before you sell it! by then i should have enought good enough credit to buy it. how come you said it was sold?
I never said it was sold. I had a couple really good offers that I was entertaining but in the end, I realized that even with $16K (my best offer) I wouldn't be able to buy anything even remotely comparable (I wanted a used STI), and then I would still have to be dealing with way more expensive insurance ($4400 / yr for full coverage on an 04STI on my record and age). Then I took my car out for a drive, floored it out of a corner in 2nd gear, experienced wheel spin, felt butterflies in my stomach and decided I really wasn't ready to sell it just yet. True story!
We need more people! You know you all want to come ice race! -Jeremy 2002 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS www.t3hw00t.com

I'm not sure, but i doubt I'd lodge there, but might be able to make a day.. kinda new to the scene and the car isn't really winter ready having a leaking roof, and Firestone affinities(had'm on every used Subaru I've driven, and they are thee worst used tires for every situation). Also in school so not really able to devote days to a trip :emo: . So i might just stop up there and say hi.
That'd be cool... but its more fun if you stay over. _______________________ -Jeremy 2002 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS www.t3hw00t.com
I'm planning to go, but being back in school, it will sort of depend on tests/homework surrounding that weekend. I'll know the certainty a bit closer to racing time.
cabin #5 has been rented out to snowmobilers, so there are only 4 left. if we dont get more people soon I will have to rent out more. so if your coming let me know so I can save the right amount of spots
Weeeeeee! Looks like fun...eh!? I would strongly recommend the ice race to anyone that hasn't been there! Get to know your car in a whole new way! Plus Rich is first class and the cabins are beautiful...with exception of "the w00t" cabin! hahaha...ice races!FTW!!!
I'm going to go again. I have an extra set of snow tires on 14inch wheels that I can bring up if anyone wants to borrow them...
Throw my name on there. I give you a depot in the next couple days. I'm still not really sure on school/tests around that time, but I'm pretty sure I can work around the weekend. I wouldn't mind borrowing a set of studded tires, especially if there's ice, otherwise, my WRs are plenty happy on anything but glare ice.
I updated the people who paid, as soon as we figure out wich cabins we are going to use I will let the people pick their spots according to who is 1st on the paid list
I'm really sorry but I have to back out. I was supposed to work on Feb 3rd but this now got re-scheduled to Feb 17th and since the job is in Chicago, there is no way I can make it
well i am out. not a scheduling conflict. i spent my ice race budget on a mod. plus i need to preserve my tranny.
almost 50 people for the first ice race and only 5 so far for this one? wow... c'mon, there's gotta be a few more people who want to go up...
we will see how i am doing for $$$ closer to the race. i guess i "could" be persuaded to come. you will have to twist my arm though...
