Anyone running this setup currently? I'm currently running a stock gutted dp to an sti catback and just last night picked up an invidia V2 dp. Nabisco yields results of others who have mated the two pipes successfully with only a 3" gasket.

I've found items such as this-http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop/elite-awd-down-pipe-stocktapered-cat-back-adapter-p-3911.html

Or I could also talk to TSTRBOY and from what I hear he could probably whip me up a 3" flat flange onto my sti catback to make it a solid fit with no worries.

Let me know what solutions you've come to with the same setup

I have a 3inch downpipe bolted up to a stock wrx catback with only a 3inch gasket. I have been using it for a little over a year now with no problems at all.

    I had problems with this....

I had a 3" flat flange bolted to an after market 2.75 dohnut gasket flange type exhaust and I had leaks like crazy. I had a 3" 2 bolt gasket, and it leaked and poped and was quite embaressing.

your best bet is to take it in and have a flat flange welded to the stock exhaust.

    Success story here...

I have this exact setup, except the downpipe is an ERZ catless (still 3" flat flange). I've been running this for a few weeks now with zero leaks.

Took it to TSTRBOY and this is what he did:

    http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30450&page=5

Reduced a small section of 3" pipe to fit inside the ERZ on one end and a 3" donut gasket on the other, welded that to the ERZ (to avoid irreversibly modifying the STI catback), stuck the gasket on, loaded RTV into every possible crack, and bolted the pipes together.

We also considered welding a flat flange to the STI catback. I think the gasket option was slightly cheaper, and didn't involve cutting up the catback. No real difference in labor.
