    I am in.

a couple thoughts. Last year we pretty much filled up the skyline drive scenic overlook. if we get more people this year (very likely considering trends) we might not all fit, short of closing down a lane of traffic. perhaps we should be on the look out for a newer bigger spot which still has a great view of the lake/colors.

are we going to be taking the scenic route home again?

    Last years video: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6646713877839801051&hl=en

good thoughts martin...can you duluth guys maybe scout out a new picture spot that is big enough to fit a bunch of cars(25+).

we have two options on the way home, we can either hit up the rally trails or we can hit up the twisty tarmac we took on the way home last year.

i will keep an eye out for spots. does it have to be on skyline? there are some spots off the scenic highway that might work.

I think anywhere would be ok. skyline was just the fmain place cuase we needed to outdo club mnsrt4. they had a pic of 4 SRTs up there. so we beat them with 13 yr 1 and then like 20 yr 2. but we have grown to big for that area i think. also i am not sure if we will all be able to fit down in canal park. we filled up the boat landing area and the parking area by the beach to capacity. so we need something new. it is fun to drive down canl park in a huge group though, we sure draw some looks. are there any other large parking lots/parks down on past canal park?

I vote rally trails. that was fun teh first year. plus this time i shouldnt have a monster paper due the next day so i can hang around longer. would it be possible to take the twisties out of duluth and cut over to the trails, then back tot eh twistys? also are we going to do the gravel pit area again? perhaps if we do the gravel pit we don have to go to the trails.

you should do a GB on skid plates if we do the trails....

We did out last GB on mudflaps through Fastline. I will post a feeler thread in the FS section. we didnt get a discout but we got combined shpping which made it much cheaper.

yes brian, i'm not paying for 30 hotel rooms lol

you dont have to do anything as far as reservations...i'll take care of it will. you will just pay when we get there for your room. when time gets closer we will further define who is staying with who and who is getting a room by themselves.

there really wasnt gravel on the rally trails, it was all dirt/mud. i think you are thinking of the gravel pit that we stop at in two harbors.

maybe at the end of park point? that would have the bay as the background and not the lake tho. it would need to be like 300+ feet wide to fit that many cars in a row and i am not sure if it is... and it would be a matter of not having other people parked there. that is why i was thinking one of the turn offs up the shore. otherwise the turn off on skyline and 40th ave west might be big enough. what do you think jeremy?

you might wanna get a skid plate if we go to the rally trails. there are some hidden rocks in teh puddles. here are a few pics of what happened to kellys car. just think... this could have hit his oil pan if he didnt have a skid plate.

the gravel pit is pretty flat and as long as you are careful you will be fine.

damn that sounds like fun I could be there for the pics but an oil leak, warped heads, bad suspension, loose cv joints, and 260,000 miles most of which was on the rally trails will keep me from having any fun :( anyone need rally lessons?

I was looking forward to making it this year, but it just so happens to be on the same weekend as the BMW BIR event. So just maybe next year I can tag along with you fella's. Its kinda hard to miss BIR this season, as by spring the plan is the current 10 turn layout will be changed, so for old times sake, gotta hit it one more time! Enjoy!
