hmmmm that is a good idea except for the fact that if everyone is getting drunk at the fire they still gotta get back to the hotel rooms. Which is why party at the hotel is the safer idea.

Pretty much the same. You are watching people doing something that is a bad idea to begin with. I know I'm gonna catch some flak for this one but "It's like the special olympics, even if you win you are still retarded."

One of the last times I was at a hotel room, we lined a drawer with a shower curtain, then filled that with ice and beer. (this was a high-school trip, we couldn't fill the tub for the room inspections)

It worked great, but the drawer got a little weak and soaked from the condensation by the end of the weekend.

couple things (I've been out of town for a week....so they're in a random order....and not necessarily new).

first, on a pretty serious note, the gravel pit is not entirely legit. I highly doubt any locals care that we're there, but here on the internet, to be treated like the ring. no details. thank you. I was taken there in trust through another group, I trusted you guys, please respect that.

it's near 2 Harbors, if any locals would like to check it out, pm me, and I'd be glad to take you. if the group would like to go again this year, that is also possible (although I'll try to find an alternate route that doesn't involve getting 20 cars through a stoplight in downtown 2 Harbors).

next, the skyline picture. if people aren't idiots in their parking (like in previous years, check out the pictures, cars on the left are nice, close, and even.....), we can easily get everyone in there. might have to have somebody get out and direct traffic a bit.

did people like Grizzly's? I think that was a sweet spot, very capable of accommodating both the large crowd inside, and lots of parking. good selection of food, and BEER.

what does EVERYBODY want to do during the days. my impression was, that the first year we had a pretty sweet time cruising around town as a group, taking some group photos, checking out skyline drive, and park point, but not really any exciting driving. last year, we did the same, but more of it, and I heard a LOT of pissing and moaning about it, and some extremely immature and stupid behavior. kind of BS that makes me want to peel the stickers off my car.

so, I want to hear from EVERYONE, not just the loudmouths. Keep in mind that with a group as big as we might have, truly spirited driving is hard to come by, especially in the pothole capital; and also keep in mind that you guys are planning some stuff on the drive home and/or some time screwing around in the gravel pit (to which I might bring my 4Runner....depending on a number of factors).

I think that does it for now.

I don't think it's specifically spelled out anywhere, do we register for our rooms on our own or is someone handling it as a group thing?

Put me and the +1 down. King size bed because we like to wrestle.

She initially wanted to bring the kids for a family vacation. I showed her the pics of the tub of beer and booze and now we're planning on dropping the kids off at my parents.

    This looks awesome.

Aside from that...I don't see anywhere on that cruise thing where liquor or beer is served with said pizza. If this thing starts and ends around the Barker's Island Inn, there is no reason we shouldn't be wasted while riding this boat.

Beverage Service• Coffee, tea and iced tea, milk, and soda are included in your meal. We have a fully-stocked bar with draft and bottled beer, mixed drinks, wine and champagne available on our Vista Star cruises. We do not serve alcohol on regularly scheduled sightseeing cruises on the Vista King or on Sundaes on Sunday family cruises. A full concession stand is available on regularly scheduled sightseeing cruises on the Vista King.

i used to work on the vista fleet. the pizza cruises are kind of lame, and booze is WAY over priced. all 3 boats are enclosed on at least one deck, however, idk if the cruises even go out that late in the season. oh, and the vista queen is tiny. probably would not fit all of us.

we need to spend less time sitting around and taking pictures. we only need so many group photos. we should try to find a good hang out spot we can all chill at during the day.. something closer to duluth where we can be reckless with our cars but not worry about getting in trouble.
