3rd going into 4th.... not good.

    Ok so tonight i was driving a little hard and grinded 3rd going into 4th moderitly bad.. (yeah yeah it happens learn how to drive right!) anyways didn't think anything of it cause i have done it before with some other gear and nothing happend. But long story short every time i now go from 3rd to 4th it's pretty bad..... am I screwed or what? what are my options anything I can do, or do i need new gears. dont know to much about trans stuff so anything will help. thanks guys

    try a lil scotty's cocktail.....otherwise your syncros might be done...but try the cocktail i heard it can work wonders

    4th gear synchro issues are really common in Subarus. I had it in my WRX and a little bit in the Legacy. Scotty's Cocktail fixed both problems.

    Had something like this happened to my honda. Needed to replace syncros. 1-2. Bought new trans instead b/c it cost almost the same. But the coctail thing sounds good though.

    ^^^FYI: They wrx 5MT Fluid capacity is 3.8 IIRC, not a full 4

    There is a thread around here on how exactly to pour in Scotty's. Basically Redline, Penzoil, 1 qt of Hypoy-c and then start the 2nd quart and keep checking it until you get the right level on the dipstick.
