The 3rd Land O' Lakes RallyCross event for 2008 will be held Sunday June 22nd in Cannon Falls, MN!! The full 2008 Land O' Lakes RallyCross Schedule is posted on http://www.scca-lol.org/rally/rallyx/schedule.php We will be going back to the field we used in March and April (the second Cannon Falls site). The course is about ¾ of a mile long, with a combination of twisty switchbacks and open sweepers. This venue was a blast last month. As always, we need volunteers for course setup and timing & scoring. All competitors MUST work the course, when they are not running, and help with course take down. Schedule: Registration 9:00AM-10:00AM Tech 9:00AM-10:30AM Course walk 9:00AM-10:30AM Driver's meeting 10:45AM Timed Runs Start 11:00AM Preregistration can be found here. http://mnautosport.com/scca-lol/rally/rallyx/events.php Entry Fee: SCCA Members - $40.00 Non-Members* - $55.00 ($15.00 SCCA Weekend Membership + $40.00 Entry Fee) *Non-members are required to purchase an SCCA Weekend Membership for $15.00 (which can be applied to a full SCCA membership fee at a later time). Directions from HWY 52: Drive south out of Cannon Falls and take a right on County Rd 14. Follow County 14 approximately 4 miles and go straight through the 4- way stop sign at County Rd 9. Continue another 1.5 miles and take a right after the barn on the right. There will be the Rally-X sign at the entrance. Follow this road back into the woods approximately 0.5 miles and then take a left into the field. We will be paddocking to the left again (the other end of the field still has standing water). For those with trailers, we will have to do the same as last time. But you can follow the road back to the 90 degree left after the creek and back up to turn around. There is a pocket to do this on the right side of the road. Then drive back up the entrance road and park the trailers as far to the right as possible to allow traffic to drive past it and then unload your car and drive it back. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Erik Dahl ( awd1dr@... or 651-470-0371 ). Contact: Kevin Beck - Eventmaster Erik Dahl - LOL Rally Chair All competitors and spectators must sign the official SCCA Waiver of Liability(1). All minors present must have a minor waiver (2) filled out. Please download the registration (3) and identification (4) forms, and have them filled out prior to the event. The 2008 LOL RallyCross Championship will be run under the 2008 SCCA RallyCross Rules (5) and the 2008 LOL Championship Rules.
anyone wanna loan me some suspension and tires so i can run my wagon lol, not sure if or what i will drive but i will be there for sure!
NO SUCH THING. ALL SUBIES MUST GET DIRTY. A clean Subie is just wrong. Those are not paint chips, they are mementos. Mark Utecht Driver of the little red raisin and proud of every wrinkle
Even the ones put there by a certain red Chrysler product? Looks like I'll be driving said car at this RallyCross, as my motivation to get the Sentra done in time evaporated with MRRW. Just gotta figure out how to make the windshield bar fit and I can get back your bender though. I'm on #4 now. At least the pieces will be useful as harness bars and braces, so I haven't wasted all 12' of tubing.
That won't matter. It was good enough to get 5th overall in Cannon Falls a few years ago on bald Falkens and Prodrive springs.
yes they are in my garage, just not sure if i want to take the time to switch them out and then back again i have some perfectly proper tires for 99% of my driving in the summer!
So you are looking for suspension why? Maybe if you had stuck with one ice racer project you'd have it ready enough to rallycross now? I was actually thinking earlier to myself: "We should go easier on Kevin, he is the event master after all." Then I remembered: "This is Kevin, of course we shouldn't!" So, see if Denny McGinn is going to make it to the event. I don't recall for sure, but I think he wasn't going to be able to make this one. He's got the Raceline RL-7s with Pirelli rally tires that I used to have, and I bet you could talk him into loaning them out...
I think we should paint your Legacy gold, because with the spacing on those cage bars it looks more like a bird cage then a race car. Nyaah!
Listen buddy, you hit both of us with that shot. At least we drive something worth more than 10.00 as scrap. You see they don't buy rust, just solid metal. He shoots, he scores!!!!!! Mark Utecht
Nothing a little yoga can't fix there buttercup. Keeps me limber. I'll be singing like a canary when I beat you in the dirt I only hope Jay and Jim can make it back and push Mark hard enough so he mows down more cones for added seconds. (too many witnesses to pay someone to kick 'em over when he goes by) Amy
I think the real battle is brewing among us newbies. We'll see if my little 2.2 NA can embarass a bunch of WRXs and STIs again. I think Carl is going to be a threat this time, but hopefully he's added a few more fog lights in the mean time so the extra weight will slow him down.
Our fenders may be wrinkled and mismatched in color but we can all show the slackers driving "pretty" cars that beauty doesn't = speed. All you guys/gals driving pretty cars better come out and show us how its done. No whining about tires. Mayhem and I are on $50 snow tires, not our fancy rally stuff. I'll even lend you my impact so you can swap to your winters. Amy
Well, they can all be bought. Lol. And Mark, I never thought about it that way, your car does kind of resemble a raisin. Maybe you could get a new vinyl for the trunk that says "RedRaisin"...or, new SN!?
We may have to start "helping" you with some driving tips soon. He's getting a little too good. Having turbo isn't as helpful for RallyCross, their bovs sound like whoopee cushions.
Bah, even with two extra drive wheels and a turbo you only managed a total of 0.44s faster after 11 runs! I ain't scared. Your co-driver does the scoring most of the time, doesn't she? Inside job . . .
I'll take any tips you've got. This time I'm gonna make sure I accelerate all the way through the finish line, that's for sure.
i'm gunning for joel! 1 spot slower overall last time - we'll see if I can catch up to the red wheel wonder again
I think red is the key. Notice how most of the fastest cars there are red? I may have to paint some more stuff on my car.
Hey, my fenders match. They're both "Certifit Primer Black" ! Oooh, High roller. My Wal-marts cost a big $40. Actually, my rally tires cost $20 each.
Actually, red cars win more races, by a statistically significant margin. My car is working on being red. And not only from the rust.
my only concern is whether or not my clutch will live but that's not going to stop me from using and abusing it!
don't think it's that close to catastrophic failure but it maybe slipping all the way home  wish i had a trailer lol
gotta admit, I'm really excited for this one! sucks I'll be out of town for the corcoran one... sad carl is sad
i see josh viewing this thread... think you can keep up this time?! or do you need to "baby" that transmission?
Kevin, what do you still have to do on the DSM? I will be there in my prune provided I don't mess up the fuel tank swap. I'll even have brakes that work!! Now stoppy foot makes it stop, so stoppy foot gets less of a workout. Anyone have any lead shot to add to Guys Swift?? :nana:
No point, it'd all just fall out the bottom. the only reason that car has less rust than the Sentra is that all the metal has fallen off already.
