Man, I'd really love to go, but relatives from North Carolina and Vermont are going to be in town this weekend. And I'd still need to get my suspension checked out, helmet, radios, and preferably some tires. heh. Maybe I could still make it out for pics. It'd be fun to see some of you again.
It wouldn't be worth going if you don't show Bill:biggrin: Rallyx list: winter tires if you have them. Helmet Snell 2000 if I remember correctly FRS radio Lunch/drinks I will have my jack if you need it so you won't need that to swap tires. Clean out everything from the car that isn't bolted down including floor mats and glove compartment contents. I always give the car the once over checking tire pressures and fluids the night before. Don't forget to check the battery tie down as well.
Joel missed his chance by the way. The fourth wheel was waiting for me when I got home today.:yumyum:
for people that have gone how beat up does you front bumper get? or any other parts. i have another older one that i don't car and was wondering if its worth it to put it on? thanks.
Are you lowered? If you are lowered and want to keep the bumper happy you might want to swap it. I'm at stock ride height and there was a spot at the last event that put my skid plate to work.
how low are you? the course is pretty mild so lowered cars are ok for the most part. stock height is ftw though - i'm at stock height too and i know i've nosedived pretty low going around that course, enough to knock my ziptied splitter loose
A few other notes...make sure that your FRS have fresh batteries or are freshly charged. If you don't have a helmet, there are loaners available (but only a few). You also will want to bring rain gear, just in case. When Brent RallyCrossed the Audi, we would bring a tarp to put all of the crap out of the car on. I would also recommend bug spray and sunblock. See you there! Carrie
Easy solution: Bring the relatives or.....if they are like my relatives....you may already be needing a break
er, do you mean which car should you take out to the rallyx, or which car should you put the engine in? put the engine in the 'stang and bring that to the rallyx.
Ohh, bring the Mustang!!! I want to see the treetops full of mud!! We could bet on which car in line gets the full brunt of the launch!! I bet #4
There might even be a few cones stuck up in the trees. Question, if the cone just dissappears, is that still a penalty? "hrm.. I could swear there used to be a cone there... ohwell..."
the question is who is climbing the tree to get the cones out? If you can't put the cone back up; it can't be a penalty.
You have to admit that would have a HUGE giggle factor. May have to issue safety glasses for course workers or have them wear their helmets to pick cones. Amy
Bill...you fail epicly! I told you and Beth what to bring in person! If you need me to right it down for you next time...just say so! You betta be coming this weekend! I'll share some of mah tarp space with ya. And you...as much fun as you had in the snow, you would love this! Come on out and hang with us. You could at least ride with one of us! ...or just give it a go in the rex. I had zero issues at the last one with the car. But I am just under stock ride height also. And I think that it will be car #5 that gets damarkmudz.
Safety glasses hell. Body armor and tactical shields are about the only things I can think of that'd work...
At Nemaji 1 I was the starter for stage 2 and 4. Mark rolled up in the Stang. I had an escape route all planed out I would start the car then duck and cover down in the ditch. Diddn't work, got a marble sized rock straight in the side of my rib cage... it was awsome!
I am considering going, but I don't know if I'll be spectating or co-driving at this point. I'm not a very good specatator though, but the interest on the board is making it rather encouraging.
man i wish i could go, I'm going to Duluth to support my buddy run Grandmas marathon. next one for sure.
I am leaning towards it. I need to get my brakes done this week if I am going to race!! hmmm.... to much going on in one weekend of no plans.. lol
just fyi bill, i have to swap all my brembos over to 4/2 pots this weekend before going to race (i just dealt with a huge hassle of having the dba distributor waiting 3 days before shipping my order so now they are sending me a second set 2nd day air and cancelling the other shipment... blah, hopefully the tonka boys get my other parts in when they are supposed to)
Well, I'm not doing anything different to my car for this event. I almost wish I had some upgrade to be working on, rather than just sitting and waiting for sunday to come. I'm getting excited though, it's gonna be fun.
actually i'm really excited! i made such a big improvement from the 1st event to the 2nd... can't wait to see if i can keep it up! probably not, josh will probably pwn me. he has a new scoop now
"hmm, no I don't see any extra bolt anywhere, that's a shame.. I wonder where it went?" I might be able to help, but I have a few things to do around the house too.
keep talking boys. I am getting more and more excited to come and join you!! we may just come watch as money is tight.
