I heard you got a job, you pay the 55 for me to race and I will. as of now that is the only thing that would stop me from racing is the money
When I worked Medical at Ojibwe last year I had two spectator spots. One for all the other cars and one for Mark. The one for Mark was behind something very, very solid that I could hide behind completely. One of the spots I was at had some first timers who looked at me funny when I heard a big V8 and got a nervous look in my eye while I found a hiding (I mean spectator) spot. I doubt they made that mistake again
That is great! I know the feeling...I remember doing the tuck and turn at Nemadji last year. In all honesty, no matter what Mark is driving, whether on dirt, gravel, ice or tarmac, he is a blast to watch. And if Jim Cox comes, he is always a crowd favorite; the dirt will be flying!
No. White = real rally wheels. For your entertainment . . . nice job, those are great. I've got my work cut out for me this time, trying to stay ahead of Carl...
Not 100% sure. My wife had her work schedule changed, so she's working Sat, which means I'm spending the day watching Adam, which could make things tough. All the new electrical is in place, but the fuel pump isn't running. I took the fuel pump out to replace a seal in the process, so it may be something as simple/stupid as a connector that didn't get reconnected in the tank (grr, so i have to open it back up again to find out). then it's mostly bolting back in the pieces of the dash, the steering wheel, the harness bar and the seat, and that should be that. But the fuel pump thing could be simple, or complex...
I'm coming to get both of you Not to shabby for my first time out and on summers. The only downfall now is I'm in M4 not PA again.
Well, I just put the uncle scotty's mix in my transmission, should smooth out the shifts a bit. Maybe this event I'll use 2nd gear.
This thread is getting quiet. I suppose everyone is busy working on their cars? Sunday looks like it's going to be nice. We might finally get to see what that field is like when it's dry.
I was. Dash is back in, bumper is back on. Found that there's no voltage going to the fuel pump relay, and the car won't start even when the relay is jumped (but the fuel pump runs). Think there must be something left that I haven't hooked up, need to locate a wiring diagram. Once I trace that it's 8 bolts and I'm good.
Woo! Found the harness I didn't get back together. Now the fuel pump behaves normally. Didn't get to fire it up though (those of you who have heard it running will understan why my neighbors wouldn't take to kindly to me firing it up at 11:30pm). We'll see if she fires in the AM, and if so I should be able to get the car wrapped tomorrow.
brake swap has been a nightmare. getting the group n rotors here by friday was looking like it wouldn't happen (vendor's supplier dropped the ball big time) but luckily mike wray had a set lying around! thanks mike. then i got my calipers from the tonka boys... no pads or hardware (thought i was getting front pads but must have miscommunicated on my end). well that's ok, I'll go to napa. oh hey, napa lists all 06/07 impreza pads as the same regardless of trim. wonderful, those won't work. make frantic wtb post! predevore has fronts, ok one end down. research...300zx uses the same pads! napa has some, they fit in the calipers - woot! ok, now I have no caliper pins to hold that backing spring in. home depot trip for round bar stock. sawzall and drill press and presto, pins are done! now I have to finish the swap tomorrow and see what else goes horrible wrong
Yup, the pins are not a stressed member of the brake system. The caliper itself takes the load from the pads. Mark Utecht
THIS! all the pins do is keep the pads from sliding out the back of the caliper. also, as i stated in my wtb thread...96 base model f150's should have a gas light. somebody may have run out of gas today :hsugh:
Anybody got a spare set of all-season wheels/tires I might be able to borrow? I'm hoping my winter tires will fit, but they're 27" tall (Forester) and I have since swapped to AGX (sedan) struts with the lower spring perch. My 26" 245 RE01Rs really didn't fit without taking off a little rubber. The winters are 215 Nokian WRs, and it will be a tight, tight squeeze. If they don't work, I'm curious if any of you have a spare winter/all-season junker set that I can toss on and play in the dirt with. If the fit doesn't work and no one has any spare set lying around, I'll just run 2 driver with my brother in his Forester. They just need to be a 16" rim and anything 25" tall will fit no problem at any offset remotely around the stock +48. Anywho, I just wanted to check in case my summer strut/spring swap equals fail for winter use on the tires I got.
And I'll have my 10x10. We should maybe look at setting up some of them together to make a really large area for people to hang out, rather thanhave everyone split up.
i will bring a cardboard box to live in. we can also make a tire fort since a lot of us will have our summer sets sitting around.
so i have sourced some wheels and tires to borrow from mike wagner that i could run on the subie, but i still have the delema if i should drive it or not.... it is lowered on swift springs... vote: should i run the wagon as it sits on the swifts? should i take the time to swap springs back to stock? or should i stick with my origional plan of running with my brother in his jetta?
