is this tc worth buying and sending in for modding to a higher stall? or would it be best to use it as a temp and send in the oem? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUBA...hZ015QQitemZ8058543431QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V also are all the 4eat valve bodies the same ? i assume so but want to be sure. thanks
OEM is usually the way to go... 4eat valvebodies apparently aren't all the same. If you wanted to be sure I would get one from a WRX. Edit* - I have no experience with this TC as I bought OEM and sent it in.
ok , thanks for the info , i guess it would be best to wait until i can take the trans out and send in the needed parts..... wrxecho....do you have a vid on youtube? if so your car is very quick
I do have a vid on YouTube. Search for user "jfkhookecho" or "20g 4eat wrx wagon." The vid was a few years ago with the 2.0, pro-torque TC and IPT valvebody. It's from a roll, not launched. I would say it's quick The TC and VB make a big difference in launching and shifting. You would also want to get a nice tranny cooler, and some synthetic fluid (I use Amsoil) for your trans.
Not all 4eat VB's are the same. For that matter, not all TC's are the same either. The 4eat trans was used in many different subaru's and the WRX varient is going to be different than the 2.5rs model. The best (and safest way), is to send in your parts. I have seen it over the years that someone picks up a VB or TC thinking that it is a easy swap and come to find out that they are a bit different. Russ
yeah i have seen the vid and was like no way.....:yumyum: very impressive thanks , i will just wait until i can take the trans out and send in the parts
You should just buy my tranny already set up and just sell your stock one for almost what you buy mine for.
