If you're not on the list for the Sept. 28th run and would like to be... please post up so we know what to expect with crowd control.

There are some folks who posted that they're interested but no date listed under their name. Please specify the event you'll be able to participate in. This will help Matt out in the long run if there's enough interest to make it happen or not.

I will be there....meeting everyone in Wabasha. I'm pretty sure Bicycle Bob with the '03 Evo will be along.....I wish I had some Subaru stickers so we could make him put them on his car... He's pretty anal about his car though.

I believe pbedroske is driving up with us as well.

Sorry guys, don't think I will be able to make it. Not trying to be a handraiser. I really wanted to go, I just went stage 2 and it would of been great to have a day of feeling the new fun, but I just can't make it. If for some reason I can, I will be there well before 9 so I am not left out, but if I am not there, do NOT wait for me. Sorry again.

it was a good turn out, we had 12cars total. Not to mention the weather was awesome today too.....hope the next runs are just as nice and sunny!

 

Ditto....had a great time again! Really couldn't have asked for better weather!

I had a great time today! Thanks to Matt for leading the group and Vic for making sure nobody got lost I cant wait for 2 more weeks. :naughty:

I vote we stop in Nelson next time at the cheese factory, they have BOMB sandwiches and soup ect. It would be a perfect place to stop and eat lunch. w00t

Looks like you guys had a great time. I had hoped to go but wife found a different family event, which i left about the same time as you guys and went into wisconsin to ride on a train. Hoped id see you guys sometime along the way. hoping to make the next run. Well, I will unless Wife and I go due north past 2 harbors for the weekend instead.

 

First-Thanks OB1 for going out of your way to scout out teach section or the stage weeks in advance and outting this together for all the younger Jedi knights.

Second-I want to thank the Vu's for taking some beautiful pictures for the club once again. I think I might have found a photographer for hire to do an exclusive on Cheech! LOL
And also everyone else you took some pictures and shared them on our board.

Third-For the first time, my bro-inlaw finally has admitted this event totally exhausted all of his STI driving abilities, he has admitted driving beyond his ability and now gladly admits he needs addtional work on his driving. LOL "Dont we all!" There was a moment when Mat and I both thought we had spinner and was in the ditch. We had lost sight of him in our rear view, but with in a few seconds the Silver STI was back in sight.

It was one of the best weather days we have had doing this. Co-piloting w/OB1 was ALOT of fun, being in the front is way scarey. You need some BIG coconuts if you want to fill that roll. Each time we went over a blind crest we would just clinch our teeth and start humming. LOL Hoping there is nothing waiting on the otherside!

Glad everyone came and enjoyed the first MN Fall Color Tour!

Thanks for driving Dreamis!! The space shuttle is like a roller coaster ride coming down those hills. My leggy powa would not have kept up with the crew....maybe with a vf11 tho :hsugh:

look ahead... look ahead... look ahead...

Keep repeating this to yourself, it will save your life and make you drive a hell of a lot better. If you feel like you're overdriving your car to keep up, you may be posing a danger to the people around you as much or more than a danger to yourself. Keep looking ahead and apexing as late as you are able to to make sure you have the clearance to make it through.

that VW vortex article wasnt bad, but please ignore what it says about elft foot braking. It is too difficult for an average person to do without any practie and will probably cause a big messy accident. It should also mention not hell/toeing unless you are already really good at it.

Don't just watch the car in front of you, look past that car and into the turns. try to relax as much as possible and trust the car and its engineering (mght be harder to do with a car that has let you down/been in a ditch already/has anything worth second guessing installed on it) but be realistic about what the car an and can't do. AWD isn't magical.

Just some advice if anyone wants to drive faster and maybe isn't comfortable in a group driving quickly.

 

esperunit-thanks for the input, hope to see you at the next event, hoping to catch some rides with some experienced drivers to and get a few tips here and there.

Eric aka Nightmare! LOL I couldn't believe how well your car's power band was delievered. It was pretty much predictable after 4k, it came on strong and linear, I see it doing very well at some R&R circuits like BIR and Road America. The god awful itch of MORE HP is soo tempting, if only Gas was only $.25. Of course thats just a Dream, and in reality its a nightmare. In another words, thanks for worp speed experience!

 

No problem, alot of people think because I dont get full boost untill 4400 rpm that there is no power untill then, damn n00bs :biggrin:

 

Thanks bikerboy for putting this together and leading such a great run. It was my first of many.

I would also like to thanks Vic for making sure no one was lost or left behinde by taking sweeper positions.

And one more thanks to Fuji for keeping my company. It was great talking with you and getting to know more members!!

The run was great. Much more intense than I had expected. There should be a bit of a disclaimer on the opening post that this isn't for the newb driver or the faint of heart.

 

As the newbie to the group, I had a great time. Lots of fun going up, down, and around the turns. I would like to say thanks to Matt for putting this together and thanks to Lue for riding with me. Gave me a lot of good pointers and very informative on my first run. Hope to be there at the next!

 

I took a couple more vids, but really nothing more than to try out the camera.

One I thought was a little funny. Gave in a little go coming over a little hill, the @ss end came out a bit and mrs. co-pilot dropped the camera
