do you guys use 2 way radios during the run?

 

Yea, we do. Matt usually calls out hazards on the road as he passes them by to give us a heads up Still seeing if I can make it to this one. Will know soon.

 

Count me in! As I think it will be an awesome chance for me to meet a few more of the MNSubaru crew!!! Plus a day of driving on some country roads rippin it up would be most excellent!!!

When do you gents usually start the trip? I'll have to sacrifice a day of football!!!

how many of these roads are dirt and how many paved once we are there, just trying to decide what tires I should be using

 

thats what i found out too, bummer. hey, thanks to you my car should be up and running for the run...thanks a ton!

 

If we go on the same roads as the last run I think they're 99.9% pavement. Ask Bikerboy.

I run my summer tires

 

All the roads were paved but there was mud/gravel/rocks/small boulders on the road last time.

well crap....everyone's car is good to go, mine is getting worse and worse as the days go. 1 more day to see if i can get it to run properly.

Nice safe drive for the most part. On one section the black bugeye with the 'Baby on board' sign went sideways going over a hill at 40 or 50...WOW, I was expecting the worst but he recovered very nice!!! that would've been real ugly. Good driving skills

Wow even more fun than I expected. It felt good having a chance to really drive the car the way it should be driven. How about Mr. Intimidator ss on the way home:laugh:

 

damn, you were more observant than me... my guess is that it was for personal use, might have gotten a heads up from a neighbor - i can't see doing anything else with blurry digital camera video.

Sorry guys. Had every intention of going today. I made it the first 10 miles down to about welch when my phone rang. My buddy in the silver mazda had tranny issues.

I stayed with him to trailer up the car. Pulled the tranny and 3rd gear was basically stripped.

I still made it to the first one of this yr. Sounds like you all had fun and at least it wasn't my car that broke

zivman - saw you guys slow down and wasn't sure if you were with us or not, sorry to blast by you when you had mechanical issues... hope you guys get 'em sorted.
chokin - the monte carlo ss 'intimidator' - i was so convinced that was an off-duty or something... you guys were teh funn4y blocking him off. i'm not too worried about the radios, i'll catch you later. glad you kept it on the road.

yeah that was me, we were about 30 feet behind you. We were suprised you kept going at full speed. I would've had to clean my shorts after that.

 

i tried to brake hard,but it was too late....lol , and i thought it should be fine go speed up, but the road was too slippy

No problem. We got caught up waiting for the semi and multiple cars at the H61 intersection and I didn't feel like going much faster than 80 to catch up to the group.

Knock on wood, my car is fine, just my mazda buddy lost third. Didn't really know it until he down shifted to turn onto county 7. When he did that, he knew he was done for. I couldn't leave him stranded while I went on, so I had to bail and help him get back.

 

As Zivman said... I tried to make it but 3rd gear did not hold..
Since I was only there for a few miles I only have a few pics..
Hopefully I will have a chance to join you guys next year.

Yea messing with that old dude in the monte carlo was fun as hell. That guy was getting so pissed and his wife or the lady in the passanger seat was just laughing her ass off. I finnally got sick of messig with him after about 20 miles or so. then i went up ahead. I then looked back and saw that he had gotten infront of you guys and was now blocking you guys in. So i slowed down to about 40 mph and stopped that from happening! what a jack ass.

i know, he got me at one pass, and he blocked me and the Sti, but thx for the help, it was fun, we slowed down to 50 mpg, and blocked all the traffic behind us lol ..i saw his wife was laughin too, and so did he lol, people shouldnt try to mess with Subaru, thats what gonna happen to them lol jk...

hahhaa..i was so luckly, but i would have crashed otherwise lol,

 

well only damage was to my front fender linners and a small crack at the bottom of my windsheild! ohh and probly a few rock chips but it was a good time! had lots of fun! if i do it next year i think i will bring some real tires so i can go fast enough to crash off oneof those 100ft drops! woot
