Looks like it might rain on sunday, probably won't be sure til friday or saturday though - forcasts kinda suck any further than 2 days out. Is this still on if it rains? My car is a little squirrely in the rain :(

My weekend just opened up as well, was going to help someone move. Since that isn't happening now, I will be there.

I've been wanting to get in on an event and meet some of you guys and gals. The Duluth trip didn't work for me, so maybe I'll try to rouse myself early enough to make it out.

Reading the previous year's threads it sounds like mostly paved roads? My summer's are pushing 20k hard miles and starting to lose a bit of grip, plus they were never very good on dirt, so I'm trying to decide if I want to throw the winter's on first or not.

Yeah, it's all paved roads. Due to the fall, there is usually a bit of gravel and leaves on the road, but definitely leave your summers on for this.

That early in the morning it should be okay to come up 35W to Washington Ave and go through campus, hit University, and follow that to Hamline.

I think that's my plan coming from uptown Mpls.

During the day today, though, it was backed up for 5 miles on that spot of 35W - I went to downtown and across the Hennepin bridge to hit University and head East.

I just saw around 8pm tonight that it was possible to get onto 94E from 35W N. I would assume from there it would be open to 280 - but I didn't try it.

I was just at the park by my house and saw a pack of subie's roll past, and came here as soon as I got home...oh yea I'm in Red Wing and I was at AP Anderson park...so I'm pretty positive it was you all.

anyway, I'd like to see some pics when you all get back.

I actually just test drove a new 08 wrx yesterday in Burnsville, but I'd rather wait for the 09's (they said they will be getting one in as soon as tomorrow, otherwise by wednesday). I'll prob be gettin one in the spring...can't wait to go on some cruises next year!

Great run again this year guys. Mucho gracias to Matt for leading again. That GTR is sexy, loved looking at it's ass all day.

The weather was gorgeous, and we had no major mechanical problems this 'round. I'm tired as hell from driving all day, but it was a blast!

Good times indeed. Stopped by Chicone's in Hudson for ample brew selection. Recommendation...take HH West north of Eleva and work back to Mondovi and 10W for the return home via Prescott. Much more scenic and no PoPo.

Also, developed rubbing/whine/howl in left front wheel. Most noticeable when turning right. Any ideas as to diagnosis?

Got a CEL 30 miles from home and I also pulled over in Menomonie cause I thought my hood popped up. I hate the bounce of my aluminum hood! Oh was with Ksal and Pete when I pulled over and caught back up to them in 20-30 miles LOL!!

if that is a map of the roads you took today I would highly suggest you take it down.

the noise is probably a wheel bearing

Huh? No, it is an alternate return route that was not taken day. Quite fun indeed - my coworkers and I drive it all the time.

Wheel bearing would suck...only 32k on the car (95% fwy cruising) and never tracked/AutoXed...:(

I did not know it was a return path. just wanted to make sure our fun roads dont get tainted with cops... ;)

ask others about the noise up front, but that is the only thing I can think of. Jack the front up and grab the wheel at 12 and 6 or 3 and 9 and see if it rocks by trying to pull the 12 to the 6 and the 6 to the 12. (i hope that made sense) if there is play it is a bad bearing.

^^^ usually only works once the bearing is really screwed... but I would put my money on a wheel bearing.... if its when turning left it will probably be the right one seeing as it has the load on it... and vice versa
