I'm getting another 1998 Outback. What suspension will bolt on and give me a little more lift. This will be my DD. Yes of course it needs head gaskets, but that's another story.
    Thanks
    Terry

I believe any SF or SG struts would be a direct swap and would gain you a couple of inches. You could add some spacers on top of the struts for a bit more lift, but then you might have to get longer top hat studs.

Do you have a GF wagon (Impreza Outback Sport) or a Legacy Outback?

If it's a OBS, then the rears will need some modification...a couple of options here. Either slot the holes on the chassis for the top strut mount (this is the route I took on my OBS) or switch the Forester top hat to the GF/GC top hat and it would be direct bolt in. Or adapter plates like curly linked to.

If you have a Legacy Outback, then the Forester struts should be direct swap.

It's a Legacy OB. Thanks. Head gaskets first, then lift. SF, or SG struts then.

True. Funny thing is , my first Outback had to have the head gasket replaced in January too.

January, when every majorly inconvenient car repair happens in Minnesota. $h!t never fails in July...except maybe air conditioning.
