Cross-Posting this from NASIOC for local ideas too, I'm just to brain-dead and fried from this semester to think more logically and come up with any other solutions.

So basically, this has now happened twice in the past year or so, but I'm still not convinced its not fuel-related (ie bad gas).

The car runs perfectly almost ALL year, slight hesitation or a stall here and there, but its extremely infrequent and happens at most, once a month. However, those small quirks are to be expected with 236,000 miles on a stock block and trans (IMO).

The issue yesterday, is far more annoying and concerning however. While driving (about 30 miles into a 65 mile trip) it'd begin to stutter, hesitate, and almost just become unresponsive to throttle input. That is, I'd maintain a constant pressure and rpm on the pedal and engine, but it'd freeze up and then surge to accelerating.

It has happened twice now, but in slushy road conditions and snow with temps roughly 30*f. I plan to replace my plugs, filter, ect... again and will be cleaning the MAF and Idle Air. It's beginning to get annoying, especially if it decides to happen again while I'm on the freeway like its done both times.

I've kind of ran out of ideas since last time it happened I tried a different knock and cam sensor even, but its happened twice, both with the same atmospheric conditions and same symptoms.

Thanks in advance for any ideas/help, normally I can sort things out on the 2.2's like its my job within an hour, but this one has evaded my mind for a year now.

You didn't go plugging those O2's back in did you? Nick has this happen when he had it. Once he unplugged the O2's it went away.

fram, I pulled it and it was dry, I was going to replace that too. I'm also going to clean the iac once the gasket shows up, clean the maf, and change out the spark plugs.

I have a 2.2 Impreza with 250,000+ that during cold and snow/flurries seems to almost die briefly than snaps right back but it is up near 2500-3000 rpm and only 5 gear/around 60 mph... And only when cold and with snow... I am thinking wires or or spark issues here... Don't know if that helps

mine happens in any gear even, I plan to replace the plugs, air filter, clean the iacv and replace the gasket, and clean the MAF since its a newer one anyway. Its literally happened twice in over a year, but its annoying more than anything still. If I figure it out, I'll let you know what it was too.

This was 3 days ago. It was getting progressively worse since about september, the car sat the entire summer at my parents house under some pine trees, everything was very dusty and dirty, Gas mileage was down to about 15 mpg, now she is back over 27.

yeah mine has dropped to roughly 20mpg, which is somewhat annoying as well
