I'm pretty sure my GFs car (99 imp 2.5 RS ) is leaking externally, but I would like confirmation incase I'm crazy before i tear it all apart. It hasn't over heated at all, but it's losing coolant and oil.

Is it burning coolant? Has it had a head gasket replacement ever? The stock gaskets on the 99 2.5 weren't so great but the replacement kit they had for them later from Subaru were a lot stronger. I had a 99 RS but it had nearly 50k miles with a turbocharger installed before it started to burn coolant on the stock gaskets. I never started losing oil though.

Not blown yet, but leaking for sure.

Time for a timing belt also?

I took it all apart yesterday, it was definitely leaking from both sides, and quite
Badly from the top of the passenger side. The intake gaskets showed
Signs of leaking too which I've never seen on a Subie. Someone has been in this engine before, it was supposedly rebuilt 30k before we bought the car. The upper center bolt on both sides was so over tightened that the 1100ft/lbs snapon impact wouldn't take them off, that seems pretty wrong to me...

    Cars

Cars getting rear main, clutch, pressure plate, head gaskets, intake/ exhaust gaskets, cam seals, milled heads, and a new timing set. And the oil pan is about rotted off. Should be about a $1000 valentines gift depending on what the beads need haha. Thanks guys

Make sure you get PN# 11044aa642 x2 for the head gaskets. If you buy a gasket kit, it WILL NOT come with these, it will just come with the old crap gaskets.

Take the oil pan from the motor I have up there and give it a good parts washing. Pretty sure that one is solid.
